Rashad Jennings, RB, Liberty
Jennings originally committed to play for Pitt but did not qualify. He played the 2005 season for the Panthers, rushing for 411 yards on 86 carriers (4.8 average) and one touchdown. In 2006 he transferred to Liberty University where he started nine of eleven games, recording 1,020 rushing yards on 179 carriers (5.7) with 10 TD. He also caught six passes for 56 yards. Jennings was voted to the Big South Conference First Team. He then followed his breakthrough campaign of 2006 with a similar impressive 2007 season. Although he only played in nine games gaining 1,113 yards on 191 carriers (5.8) with 15 TD. He also caught 13 passes for 276 yards and two TD, earning the Conference's Player of the Year Award.
Jennings is a big and strong back. Is deceptively fast (4.60) for his size. A true downhill runner, Jennings does not "dance" around the pile. Great leg drive. Very tough to bring down inside. A workhorse-type of back. Very productive back. Does not turn the corner. Will get caught from behind.

This would be the Matt Forte of next year's draft. A workhorse back who would carry the load on the next level. In a weak running back class, Jennings (with a good post season) could sneak into the second round.

Another Mock Draft had him goin 82nd over all to the eagles.

The Eagles probably have a better shot at converting fourth-and-11 than they do fourth-and-one. That's because Andy Reid is a moronic play-caller, and always decides to go with a run toward the right guard or right tackle with his small running backs. Or sometimes he mixes it up and calls for a Hail Mary. If Big Red returns next year, he'll need a big back. At 6-1, 232, Rashad Jennings qualifies.

If he left Pitt because they wanted him to convert to a FB then he's not going to want to play FB in the NFL.... Plus he'd have to put on a lot of weight to be big enough to be an NFL fullback.

Rashad was mentioned in a well-known philly blog

If there is someone they really like, they might use the 21st or 28th selections (assuming they don't trade up for a lineman), but they will probably target a back in the second or third round.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as there is plenty of value to be had at running back later in the draft. One player that may pique their interest late in the first round is Pitt runner LeSean McCoy (5'11", 210). He is a big play threat with the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. If they wait, there are some bigger backs down the draft board. Shonn Greene from Iowa (5'11", 235) is a powerful runner with few knocks on him, other than he isn't an experienced pass catcher. NC State's Andre Brown (6'0", 228) and Liberty's Rashad Jennings (6'1", 230) are also worth a look.

its really almost not worth mentioning, but as a Eagles and flames fan, i would be beyond ecstatic if the birds picked Rashad.

I saw on Kiper's board that he has Chris Wells RB from Ohio St. goin to the Eagles. If that happens I doubt they will take two RBs.

If Rashad Runs under a 4.43 in the combine dont be suprised to see him go anywhere in the second round.

The Texans are expected to take a DT and safety in first two rounds unless free agency looks promising. They'd love to snatch a big back to complement Slaton in the 3rd or 4th rounds. If Rashad drops to the 3rd, I could definitely see him becoming the 2nd LU alum to play RB for the Texans.
