Got some questions about this video camera I got for Christmas. In the other thread, flamesbball84 helped me out!

Ok, apparently any video I take on this camera will not transmit video to my pc via the USB that came with it... only still images. According to the JVC website, I have to get either a 4-4 DV cable or a 4-6 DV cable. How am I supposed to know which one to get? I'm not sure where I'm supposed to plug it in on my computer. Any help would be much appreciated.

Wouldn't all that kind of thing be explained in great detail in your owner's manual that came with the camera?

Nothing in the owner's manual about which wire I should get. Just shows a picture of it and says "DV Cable" My camera is a JVC GR-D77OU. I googled it and a lot of people had complaints about not being able to upload video, then I went to jvc.com/support and saw I needed that cable - just don't know which one to get.

You gotta make sure your computer has a firewire input first.

It's the input on the left.

You can get it at Best Buy.

I don't know about that- I'm not familiar with any of these things mentioned- I still use cable co-ax to hook up my TV

You need to make sure you have the RIGHT Firewire cable. Some are 4-pin to 6-pin...others are 4-to-4. You want to make sure the cable matches both the input to your camera and also the input to your computer.

Will do. I don't have a BestBuy in town, will RadioShack work?

Yeah...they should have the firewire connectors, too.
