but met Him while at LU? Be interested in hearing your stories. Also anyone who came who did not have a close walk with Christ but got one while here.

Actually I was that way. I lived in a Christian home, went to CHristian school, and just spent so much time around Christians I thought I was one...Then I was in a service during Fall SEW my freshman year and God got a hold of my heart through Pastor Dave Earley and I gave my heart and life to him that very night

Not myself but I had a friend who came to LU to play a sport, he came to LU not as a Christian...really didnt get saved while at LU but when they left and saw the differences in the community and girls (living in a far more secular BIG city) realized how LU was so different and then gave their life to the Lord

This has happened a lot and is truly the reason Doc didnt have a problem bringing in students or athletes who were not saved, as long as the majority on the team were and could influence the lost.

Someone with more knowledge could probably expand upon it but didn't Evan Risher get saved during his time here and now is heading in to some kind of mission work?

He is actually now a youth pastor at a Church in Lynchburg...great guy

GREAT GUY....I remember when he decided not to play basketball anymore and was quite upset when he came up to me thinking he'd have to move home, I set up an appointment with Doc and Doc told him he gave his time and efforts for 2 years so LU will give him 2 more...it changed his life

That is a great story, show the heart of Doc, unfortunately that kind of story never gets any airtime in the public arena.

My best friend from HS is a freshman at Liberty, and his GF (who's from Texas) wasn't a Christian till she got there...
