I saw Butte play this season Alex Green could be on of the best RB recruits LU has ever had other than Rashad...he runs harder than Rashad and is just as fast if not faster..Great pickup if they can keep him commited!!!

I don't really know if there is a RB in college football that runs as hard as Rashad. But if what you say is true, then I can't wait to see this guy suit up.

And we seem like now we are going to have a lot of depth at RB and WR which are two positions I was worried about going into the season.

Rashad didn't run that hard dude... especially not this year. I can name a ton of people who run harder.

Rashad ran well. He ran smart. He didn't run REALLY hard. Running hard is like Mike Alstott. Shad is strong, but he was smart about it.

Shad could break tackles at times when guys make weak arm tackle efforts. But he had moves and speed to get around guys, rather than run people over and thru people.

Rashad ran hard when he needed to. When he needed to use his speed and agility, he used it.

That's what I was getting at.

There are hard runners. Then there's guys who can turn it on at times, but shut it off at others.

He broke tackles at times and at times he used his speed and agility to get around defenders. This is an all around RB who runs hard but runs smart. I think Rashad is strong enough to run over some linebackers in the NFL but isn't fast enough to outrun them. His running style in the NFL will be more like a fast bruiser. I think he could have a similar impact on a team as Lendale White does for the Titans and Jonathan Stewart does at Carolina.

So yes, he runs hard, but he is also fast. Running hard doesn't mean you have to be Mike Alstott. You just have to be able to run people over and Rashad definitely did that this season. But he also showcased his speed.

I just remember a lot of instances when Shad had a chance to showcase his power, the way a guy like LenWhale or Brandon Jacobs, or LeRon McLain would... and he wouldn't. I just don't see him as as hard of a runner as one of those guys... but he posseses that power and uses it at times.

Rashad is a great running back and I do wish him the best..IMO if he runs a 4.4 or better then he will go 2nd-3rd round...A patriot scout that came here was quoted as saying "that Rashad ran like a big marshamallow with speed". Now I dont know what game this scout was at but I have seen him run hard and Ive seen him run soft...now IMO he's got a perfect combination of size, speed and strength..and he's a workout warrrior so I think that he can start on the right team in the NFL. If its something mentally that turns it on and off for him then the league will defiently teach him what he doesnt already do right...he's got all the tools but he's no Brandon Jacobs yet.

I have heard people talk about Rashad not running hard all the time but when I watch him play he gets the job done and there should not be any doubts about it. If this guy is as good as Rashad I will be VERY happy.

The University of Hawai'i football team yesterday secured commitments from All-State safety Aulola Tonga of Kahuku High School and running back Alex Green of Butte (Mont.) College.

They said they will put their pledges in writing Feb. 4, the first day recruits may sign national letters of intent.
Here are the details on Alex ...
Green also visited Hawai'i the past weekend, and came away impressed with the UH's coaches and players.

"The city is beautiful," Green said. "The people are great. They made me feel welcomed."

Green's host was cornerback Lametrius Davis. They were teammates at Butte, as well as middle-school classmates in Portland.

"I've known him a long time," Green said.

Davis played for Butte in 2008, and signed with UH the past December. He enrolled at UH two weeks ago.

Green said he is 6-2 and 220 pounds, and is capable of sprinting 40 yards in 4.49 seconds.

He can bench press 310 pounds.

Green also said Hawai'i's family-friendly atmosphere is conducive to raising children. He has a 7-month-old daughter, Harlym.

"I wanted to pick a name that would be unique," he said.

Green added: "Hawai'i is a good fit."

By verbally committing to the Warriors, Green is turning down scholarship offers from Washington, Texas-El Paso and Liberty.
