If he can play - send 'em our way!!

Give the guy a break! He made a mistake and had a lapse of judgment - he has been penalized already - playing for Texas and now talking about playing in the FCS. If we all got blacklisted for saying something stupid or off-color - there wouldn't be a FlameFans website. Forgiveness - look it up in the Bible.

In my opinion, for what it's worth, some folks in this thread seem to be so concerned about this guy's past and his 'public image' only because he MIGHT be representing Liberty on the football field. How has what this guy did ANY different in the eyes of God than ANYTHING any of us have ever done that God considers wrong. I think we should ALL daily be concerned about our own public image and much more importantly our image in the eyes of our creator. God gives us countless second chances every single day and yet we're discussing how much work in the community and how many bonding sessions this guy needs to do with his potential Liberty teammates before we officially accept him as 'one of us.' Reading this makes me incredibly grateful that I don't have to earn God's grace and forgiveness before I can be accepted back into the fold every time I mess up. If this guy has asked for the Lord's forgiveness then he's already received it and this wrong has been forgotten. Whether it comes as human nature or not, we too should forget this and move on. One wrong doesn't define who anyone truly is.

With all due respect to the above posters, I think the dissenters (I was not one) were not dealing with one'e relationship with God but rather with a very public issue splashed across the front page of every sports rag in the country and how that might affect (rightly or wrongly) our program's ability to schedule future opponents or align ourselves with better conferences.

Please let this thread die.

I truly think that if this SINGULAR thing kept programs from wanting to schedule us or from getting intoa better conference those folks need to get their head out of either the sand or their backsides.

Baldspot is right though...this needs to just die.

Oh my! You mean if we accept this young man here, we may be black balled( no pun intended) from teams scheduling us or conferences accepthing us. That is a new ideal, right? NOT! I wish this young man luck where ever he goes

I have no doubt that if he does not land at LU he will land at another top FCS program. Appy? Montana? JMU? Someone will take him so why not LU? The arguments given both ways are compelling.

If he leaves the state of Texas, he's coming here.

Come on over Buck...I hope that you come and God works wonders in your life like he did in mine when I transfered to Liberty. It is a great place to be especially when you have some adversity in your life. I hope some of you that are being critical can understand that God is there for everyone and if we have faith that things work out for the best.

I wish we could just come out and say stuff around here and not hide behind veiled references.
I mean did Buck say that to someone while on campus?

I guess you've never read a paper or watched ESPN.

Veiled sources make the world go round.

Take them for what they're worth.

Rooster, you know where I work. You should know I'm not allowed to come out and say things flat out. I say as much as I'm allowed to by the people I work with.

Fair enough. I am a bit like the kid who knows the box under the tree is shaped like what he wants, shakes like what he wants, and his brother told him it was what he wanted. I'm not good at knowing part of the story! I like knowing, and I hate suspense.

Come on Buck come to LU!
