If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Hey Proto- no it's not you (this time!).. HMO & I have talked in that regard..

So far as KG is concerned, from what I know he's home now & they are looking for a prosthesis which will most likely have to be custom made due to his size.. He is returning to school next semester as he needs 14? hours for his Mass Comm degree.. It is selfish for me to want him to be able to play, however, he would certainly be able to receive a 6th year medical redshirt due to the fact that it is a medical condition & outside from NCAA competition. These rare occasions, a player may be allowed to play in their sixth year of college if they suffered a serious injury which kept them from playing for more than one season as I understand it. That is applicable to KG..

My personal opinion- I'm not sure with that front section of his foot amputated- how his mobility (which was vastly improved at the Pete Newell Big Man Camp he attended this summer- I was excited to see in person than just film! Then he got the blister then subsequent MRSA infection within) & balance will be in a short time to not only walk but then try & compete.. Contrary to popular belief he has to do more than just stand in the lane!! I just don't know if he's got enough time to adapt..

UNCA made an announcement when he wasn't on campus when school got back- just saying that he had "foot injury" etc etc.. KG & his family are pretty private and have not made any statements to this point.. most recent press.. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... ille_N.htm

I don't see him being able to play again, but I'd love it if I were wrong- for his sake at least!! The one good thing about Kenny from speaking with him is that his spirits are up & he seems to have good clarity regarding moving forward- wherever that may take him!! He'll be here for at least another semester..

They're crushing everyone right now!!!

No...you should STILL feel very embarrassed. I haven't worked at UNCA in 9 years and I was/am embarrassed over that game.

Oh no doubt- I didn't say I wasn't still embarassd by our performance against the Heels- especially after only a 12 point loss to them last year, but this year's team is certainly not the same- I was expecting to get beat & beat bad after what the Tar Heels did in Maui (and everyone else for that matter!) going into the game- I wasn't expecting for us to grab our ankles & take it with no grease, no kiss, no nothing... which is the way it turned out!! Not nothing really- that $75,000 check helps- another poster on our board said he "felt like a whore" maybe that's true of all of us mid/low majors playing guarantee games, who knows!!

I just said I feel better that UNC waxed #12 Michigan State on the road by 35- plus we played much better against UT last night so thats the other reason I said "I don't feel as bad"

My gosh...those guarantees are what foots the bill for a school like UNCA.

Sure- I love the big games now & back in my playing days (esp when we compete well and beat teams like South Carolina etc..)- those guarantee's and the fact that Eddie has always scheduled 4-5 big time games each & every year not only bring in much needed monies that funds a lot of UNCA athletics programs (certainly not just basketball) but it also is one of the main reasons we get recruits & such great exposure.. we ALL know that kids don't come to UNCA just to play in our HS gym (cue all the haters...)- right guys?
