and in desperate need of a quarterback. Micheal Vick's prison sentance is over, possibly by this Summer, do you take a chance on him?

Id take a flyer on a college QB a la Baltimore (Joe Flacco) or Atlanta (Matt Ryan) before going after Michael Vick

Sign him as a QB? No. Would I invite him to camp and let him compete for another position? Absolutely.

What position do you sign him at? He's not going to survive at running back--and can he really be effective as a receiver?

returner and maybe DB, and with everyone doing this wildcat formation who would be better at that than mike vick???

Who do you go after this year? Unless Colt or Sam Bradford comes out, where do you go? There isn't an NFL ready quarterback in the draft and the cream of the FA crop is Kurt Warner.

You don't have to necessarily sign him to a position. Just bring him to one of the early mini-camps and throw him in there. If he's still got decent athletic skills, he'll find a position. Personally, I could easily see him playing safety.

As far as college QBs I know there arent a lot of earth shattering no doubters among the senior class but Id take a chance on Stafford, Dan Lefevour (CMU) or Nathan Brown from UCA (or ever Warner from the FA ranks) before going after Michael Vick. I mean he is a great QB and athlete but I just am leery of all that baggage he is bringing in

If i am the new GM for Detriot i ask myself "who else is going to want to play in Detriot?" I follow that up with a 5 year deal which would be incentive filled with many OUT clauses. I mean Detriot fans couldn't hate there team anymore, so why not Micheal Vick?

first of all, michael vick isn't a great QB. he's a great runner who occupies the QB position and can be an OK passer. he's a horrible QB - career passer rating of 75.7, just 71 TDs in 74 games, 53.8 completion percentage, and that's with teams playing cautious defense due to his running ability.

invite him in to camp because of his athleticism and figure out what to do with him from there if you want to keep him. he's the one that has to prove he should be in the league, so make him earn a position.

I would sign him!! Put him a RB, DB, PR, KR, or WR. The guy is talented and made some mistakes - but I think the guy has been punished enough. He needs a job and this is what he is good at. This showed bad judgment, but it was dog fighting and it sounds like his friends were the ones into it.

I think it would be cool to see him play for the Browns - they need a QB and he would fit right in at the Dawg Pound;)

Would anyone be shocked if the Raiders or the Cowboys picked him up? Well, maybe not as a quarterback for the Cowboys. But still...

I will say this in follow up...if he shows he is really sorry for what he has done and is taking steps to get his life right and stay out of trouble I will take a chance on him, but Im still gonna bring in somebody like Nathan Brown or Dan Lefevour or even Matthew Stafford and have them as an understudy to Vick

I say you don't openly dismiss it- he's a great athlete but as others have pointed out here- he's not even a good, moreless, great QB.. some team could use his athleticism, etc.. but at the expense of all the bad PR & distractions (see NY Giants).. I'm not sure it makes your TEAM any better.. I believe I would pass-

That's not to say that a really bad team in a smaller market wouldn't want to take the risk to get noticed & attempt to revitalize their organization in that manner..

Pun intended
