The Uni Watch topic I created (bragging that I was in it) sparked this idea. What are your favorite things to see on a uniform of any sport? What are your favorite colors? What are some of your favorite logos?

In baseball, I love the high socks look. Even better if they're wearing stirrups. And even better than that if the stirrups are striped.

I love white cleats in baseball. However, the cleats have to be a certain style. The white Pumas generally look awesome, and some other ones look really good, it depends on the team.

White pin stripes are good. Greys are not.

All pants should have something on them, whether it be just a single stripe or pin stripes. Solid pants suck.

Vest jerseys only look right with certain colors. Pinstriped vest jerseys do not work. No solid color jersey should be a vest, only white and sometimes grey.

Flat bills look much better than really curved bills. There is, however, a such thing as too flat.

White hats need to make a comeback. Either that or the old school Atlanta Braves style.

Pants pulled over the shoes should be outlawed.

I hate hate hate it when football teams do black shoes, socks and pants but a different color shirt. It looks like they're wearing pajamas. I'm looking at you Jacksonville (edit: and Coastal).

Add on to LUconn's post:

No team, in any sport, should ever, EVER, wear black pants. There's no cause for it. I don't care if black is in your color scheme. No team should wear black pants. I challenge anyone, find a good uniform with black pants. Soccer and basketball don't count because they wear shorts. Baseball and football only. It's not possible.


Another thing, no team should ever wear all of the same color, unless it's white. None of this color on color crap that the Ravens, Seahawks, and Saints always do. It's just nasty. Stop it.

In fact now that you've got me fired up about it. Most of my anal uniform issues comes from socks. I normally like it to be a different color than the shoes and pants unless you're just going with 1 color for everything. We had red helmets, jerseys (home anyway), pants and socks in High School. Shoes were a free for all. In general I prefer black cleats.

In basketball, I hate it when college teams have the wide shoulders on their jerseys. Those are pretty much for women.

Baseball, I don't care too much about but some people have socks showing some have loose pant legs all the way to the ankle and they're on the same team. I need some uniform (adjective) uniforms(noun).

Soccer, you must have an off center stripe down the front or the adidas stripes down the shoulders. Or else I hate you.

Most importantly, everybody must tuck in your shirt. I can't stand the way untucked shirts look in sports.

Another thing, and I know I'm in the minority, but I've never really liked vertical stripes on soccer jerseys.

I like women's volleyball uniforms. Um, other than that, can't say that I care too much.
