yeah, i used to have really long hair but then started cutting it more, now im growing it out one last time before i get it cut like the week i move there haha. i usd to have like ten inch long hair, but it was like afroish and i would pick it out and make it into an afro and wear a headband when i played tennis, then i lost my temper one time and got the name "Mckenroe of merced" so to make it stick more ordered my uniform in really small so the shorts would be realy short with a skin tight shirt, it was awesome

Is your signature also your name on Myspace? Yes, that's random.

bigsmooth wrote:thanks for stopping by "student", go ahead and register. the dress code is all about being professional and not looking like a slob. i think that is what most of us old and semi-old hags are talking about. does it make a difference in learning? no, but LU is supposed to be different. i have seen many students in the new dress code who look like they have not taken a bath in a week. as christians i think we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard. i have no problem with the new dress code, as times change, but you can be casual and professional. in regards to your arguement about those "other" schools not having problems getting jobs...it is all about their institution. comparing LU to those schools is ridiculous.
This kind of statement always seems to upset me most about arguements about dress code and dress a church, etc etc....people will say as Christians we need to be held to a higher standard and look nice and all of that. I am not saying we shouldn't be modest in the way we dress, but how cleancut we look really has nothing to do with christianity at all. I am fine with how the dress code is now, it is much cheaper to find clothes with how the dress code is now anyways. I know that matters to me, I have about 2 dollard to my name at the moment. Well this whole paragraph has been kind of scattered so I will just stop talking. I just found this board, and felt the need to say something, because I have always felt that there is no need tp dress nicer to be a better Christian or whatever it is you were trying to say.

To save Sly the time, why don't you register and stick around.

I know the $2 to your name deal. Before I got paid yesterday, I only had 5 bucks to my name.

2007 student...read the whole thread then come back with something more substantial. it is how other people perceive christians. for the last time...I AM OK WITH THE DRESS CODE, YOU HAVE TO CHANGE A BIT WITH THE TIMES!!!!

I found myspace girl's comment to be pretty silly.

My wife works in a law office. I don't think they care if that extra hour she'd save helped her to do some "cramming". She is awake a little after 5 everyday and doesn't leave the house until just before 8. Welcome to the real world.

Higher standards aren't worthless. I'm not attempting to add new oxygen to this 'fire'... just pointing out the obvious... that as an adult with a degree, you'll likely be asked to come to work in a way that can best represent the company you work for and in a vast majority of cases that means dressing within the Liberty Way.
The other thing to consider is that most adults in the workforce work in their clothes 8-10 hours straight where as students who have a problem with a dress code can opt to stack classes in such a way that they can dress up for maybe half of the day. College life is pretty flexable.

Okay... I have to get back to my paper.

I'm not sure if I made my question with the clarity that I wished. Anyways, are there any rules changing, I'm so out of the loop these days.
