The comment from RMK at the Flames club lunch last month was not far off: "Play no d, Pass to me, shoot the 3."

This game is exhibit A for why conference games shouldn't be played this early in the day or during the season. I have a feeling by February we'll all be trying to figure how we could've lost this so badly.

Seriously. I'm so glad we could sacrifice a conference game for the opportunity to embarrass the entire school on national TV.

It was painful to watch after the first half. We just weren't in tempo.

We need to learn to rebound and defend. I'm not that worried about the scoring. But if we can't learn the first two then the latter won't make a difference.

I was listening to him call on my way to a meeting and almost purposely wrecked my car to make the pain go away.

It had a lot to do with youth...first away conference game...its tough, especially for a young team...

but there is plenty of things we can blame it on...our defense sucked, we couldn't keep them off the offensive glass when we did get stops and missed a ton of wide open looks. It had nothing to do with unca's "defense" as the espn announcers were saying. We had so many open shots it wasn't even funny....

hopefully this will be that game almost every team has once a year where absolutely nothing goes right

I'm only listening because I want to hear how ticked Ritchie is. And if he's not at a level to my liking it's just going to further irritate me. I'm looking for a "they are who we thought they were" interview.

He's not going to do the interview. That makes me so mad.

Actually I like that he's not doing the interview. He has more important business to attend to in that lockerroom.

Here are the final stats as ugly as they are ...

Tough way to start out the conference. I guess Ashville was young too, and they don't have Kenny. Anyway,
there's always time to turn things around. We know we have the backing, the coach, and the good young athletes;
so let's just believe that they're going to bring this team to a very positive position.

Last year were 4th, and let's hope that we can take another step of improvement on our way to the top!

There is no disguising that we laid an egg this afternoon in Asheville. But I would hate to see this one horrendous outing diminish the excitement of what this team can accomplish as it learns to play together.

We have a week to work on the obvious flaws before we head up to Charlottesville. I would not be surprised at all if we turn things around and play well against the 'Hoos.

Ok, let's see what I can say without getting in trouble.

First off, I knew we would have a game like this at some point in time. It's just embarrassing it was on national tv and a conference game.

Once it was obvious no one could shoot today, I don't see why we didn't try to spread the floor and penetrate with the intent of getting a layup or dunk. Every guy besides Seth who penetrated seemed to want to kick it out. With Anthony and Brolin's athleticism they should've been penetrating and going to the basket.

I'm not saying anything about Kyle.

We have no leader on the floor. None. At all. One of these freshmen are gonna have to do it because none of the upperclassmen are. Smitty's a great player when he wants to be but he's not a leader.

Why were Johnny and Jesse on the floor at the same time? That confused me. A lot.

Why did Seth bring up the ball with Jesse on the floor? That also confused me.

Our uniforms don't fit at all.

This game should've been here. 8000 people in the Vines (which we would've had) would've looked a lot better on ESPN than that joke of a gym.

They played better than us. Point blank.

With all of that being said, it would not surprise me one bit if we went to UVA next week and made a game out of it. There's no way Anthony and Seth shoot that bad again.
