I've gotta tell you, other than The Office and Sons of Anarchy, tv really blows this year. There's absolutely nothing worth watching, especially on network tv. I can't wait for Lost and 24 to finally show up and hopefully save us from mediocrity.

The sad thing is I'm hearing this from everywhere. The wife and I netflix shows, so we're a season behind everyone else. Last year, when the shows were lackluster, people said the writer's strike kinda ruined everything. This year, I don't know what the excuse is... which basically means we should have fired those hackneyed scribes when we had the chance and got new blood in there.

There is a carryover from the Writers' strike which is why so many top shows skipped the fall season.

It seems to me that the networks went overboard trying to copy British television the past year or so after the runaway successes of Idol & The Office. In an increasingly crowded television environment of hundreds of channels, they need to to be focusing on creating fresh ideas that will stand out.

I like the Monday night comedies on CBS. I also like the non-CSI crime shows on CBS (Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, NCIS).

Aside from The Office, I'm still enjoying My Name Is Earl, Chuck and Eli Stone. Boston Legal is still decent, but they really seem to be going full force with their liberal agenda this year, which is supposed to be their final season. Heroes sucks, which is disappointing after how good the first season was. This may be the last season for that show too.

Looking forward to 24:Redemption this month, then the regular seasons of 24 and Lost in January.

Ah yes, totally forgot about How I Met Your Mother. Not a fan of The Big Bang Theory though. I wish they hadn't cancelled The Class.

I think Big Bang is hilarious. I loved The Class though. I'd rather have that back than Worst Week, Gary Unmarried, or the Christine show.

How I Met Your Mother is still one of my favorite shows on tv.

i love that stuff. it fascinates me. at first i was worried about its staying power. it seems more like a show meant for the sci-fi channel.

Fringe has been okay, but I don't really like the female lead. And it's like a half-hearted effort at something that's already been done.

<------------------ Best new show this season by far. I am seriously thinking about starting a motorcycle club and running guns. It can be a little risque at times but that's just an FX show for you. They try to get away with as much as possible. But the story is awesome. The bad guys are your protagonists. The antagonists are bad good guys that are fun to hate. It's really just an awesome show with a great cast.

I watch Fringe but they've gotten info from dead people too many times and the professor has seemingly worked on every weird project ever. I hope they plow forward a little more with the conspiracy aspect.

Worst Week is so obviously Meet The Parents the series. and it's not funny.

30 Rock has really stepped it up after their lackluster 1st season. It's really coming into it's own.

Allegedly the mistakes learned from Alias and Lost quick declines are being factored into how they roll out the stories Fringe. That said, it hasn't totally lit my fuse yet and if it doesn't soon then opportunity will be completely lost.

I'm going to get into this one eventually. I've only seen the pilot episode (which I enjoyed).

I don't really watch much TV, outside of the kids shows that my kids watch. I DVR Heroes every Monday, and while this season hasn't really measured up to the first season (and I won't even talk about season 2), it hasn't been that bad, IMO. I watch Big Break on the Golf channel, and that's about it as far as shows I regularly watch. Nothing really impresses me that much.

Sons of Anarchy - awesome
It's always sunny.... - Freakin hilarious, I just started it this season, I need to go back and watch the rest.

The office has been funnier this year than last. Last year wasn't very good. I have missed about 3 episodes though.

Looking forward to 24...which also stunk last year.

True, but I think he was referring to season 6. The problem with season 6 was that, by that point, the writers exhausted their plot points. Think about it -- they already had one where the ultimate villain was the most powerful person in the world, and they unleashed the greatest fear from terrorists, e.g., a nuclear explosion in the United States (actually, they did that twice). There's nowhere to go after that.

Still, 24's problem was that the writers were writing at as the show was going on. It worked in seasons 4 and 5 (which led them to believe that they could do it), but then it caused non-sensical plots in season 6, and Jack Bauer basically became a parody of himself. That's why I'm optimistic about season 7 and the Redemption film, because the writers at least put time and effort into it.
