There's probably a thread on this already, but with all the presidential stuff I'm too lazy to search and drag it up.
So, who is everyone pulling for in the congressional races?
For me its:
Mark Warner
Virgil Goode

If I didn't know just because I had looked it up a long time ago, I would have no idea who Warner is running against. Did Gilmore decide to throw his name in the hat and then sit at home?

Seriously, try finding a Gilmore sign anywhere. Although he's the better candidate, he's run a non-existant campaign.

That's because he ticked off a bunch of republicans and he has no money. I'll vote for him anyway on principle, but Mark Warner winning wouldn't be nearly as bad Obama. Warner is much more centrist than Obama.

Warner is a better candidate than Gilmore...he did a much better job as governor.

there is a libertarian on the ballot, and i think a green party or something too. this would be a good race to vote off party on just to make a point since Warner is gonna win by landslide anyway

Warner is the best candidate on the ballot IMO. He has experience and did a GREAT job as governor. Gilmore left Virginia struggling-VDOT still has not fully recovered from the tailspin Gilmore sent it in, Warner righted the ship, and Kaine's sinking it again.

ok, define great. yes, he got the state into the black on the balance sheet, but at the expense of the taxpayers hard earned dollars. from a liberal point of view i guess he was ok

Hmm, centrist vs conservative. I'll take the conservative. I watched the debate between the two and it was night and day. Warner is a liberal. And take into consideration a Democrat majority in the senate. Not something I want to deal with. Besides, I can't stand watching Mark Warner talk, he's like a robot with a mouth full of foam.

Yeah, a whole half-cent increase in the sales tax and stopping the car tax from being eliminated. He also made a ton of budget cuts and got Virginia to be rated the most efficiently run state in the country. Warner might be more liberal than some on here may like, but I think he's going to be good in the Senate.

Here's the thing...Warner may be the best candidate, but his victory brings the Dems closer to the magic number 60 in the Senate. If they've got the White House, House of Reps, and 60 in the Senate, you can kiss any Republican adgenda goodbye.

He is a better candidate (and will win going away), but his victory means far more than his representation of VA in the Senate.

Bingo. It's scary to think the GOP can't even muster a filibuster of that magic number is reached.

I can't say I'm surprised though...the GOP has truly run itself in to the ground.

My litmus test to the future of this country is if Franken gets elected. If he can win, then the country's intelligence is worse than anybody has imagined or joked about.

It's Minnesota, they were governed by a washed-up fake wrestler. We'll see if Frankin happens and if Barkley can make a successful run in Alabama. If so, you know that this country has truly lost its ability to produce intellectuals and leaders.

I figured you voted for Bush the first time based on your conclusion of voting for Obama this time. You know the recession thing you spoke about. You are voting for a dem this time because of a recession we are in, and you must have voted for Bush in 2000 because the Dem put us in a recession.
