Elons loss doesn't really hurt our playoff chances. they will be a top 5 team when they come to Lynchburg and assuming we win out our playoff chances pretty much will still hinge ona victory over Elon. Of course we have to get there first. Observation: I love the red jerseys, but I was told we only wear them at homecoming. Is this true? Assuming it is, why do we as fans always wear red if our team is going to wear blue? Just a thought.

I loved how the refs "read flamefans" this week and decided to call us out on our third down music. But mostly, I loved how when they said we couldnt play music at all when CSU had the ball, instantly it seemed to wake everyone up and the fans got louder than ever.
Blame that one on Jay Mills, not the refs.

I don't blame Jay Mills. I think the complaint was legit. This was also happening at the hockey games. Music would play up to 30 seconds after they dropped for the face off.

very nice win. the boys came out fast and just played really well. a snoozer of s second half, but the defense really played well. it was great to see coach sam and big sy get honored as well. Props to SJ for the video tributes. nicely done. Also great to see sly and the family and everyone else! just a fantastic weekend.

I saw the whole game on MASN and was very impressed with our performance following last weeks letdown. The O Line dominated up front. Brock had plenty of time to throw and Rashaad just consistently picked up the tough inside yards behind his blockers. Brock just keeps getting better every week making great decisions and not trying to force things too much. Crawford looked great especially that one TD he ran on the first drive.

No problems on defense, pass coverage was better but there wide outs dropped quite a few catches. We probably should have had 5 pics but dropped a few. Nice goal line stand on there 1st drive of the second half which preserved the shutout. Claiborne played great in every aspect of the game. In on tackles, the blocked punt, and pass coverage. Should hear more about him in the future. Did a great job in filling in for Ryan Greiser. Trey Jacobs with 2 sacks and played hurt.

I do know that Chuck South is not all that great of a program but not the pushovers that they used to be. They did give Wofford and Miami of Ohio good games. Lead Miami most of the game I think so a great win of us and in convincing fashion.

I think you can blame it on me. Just chalk it up to another situation of me saying something and then it happening shortly after. I missed the music once they stopped playing it. We should get the PA guy to hum it instead.

It didn't rain very hard for the parade -- mainly sprinkles. The parade was SMALL this year -- from what I heard today, a lot of people who had planned on being there backed out because of the weather. Disappointing.

There were originally 28 groups that were supposed to be in it. I have no clue how many there actually were. We were towards the end.

I've been far removed from internet access for a couple of days, and was happy to catch up and see what a great overall performance the guys had yesterday. Arriba las Llamas!

There was probably 10 - 15 at most groups in the parade. Very short and dissapointing. Oh well. Also, I think the attendance number was correct because while the student section never got full there were people still coming up until halftime, and some of the people that were there at the beginning of the game left during halftime and shortly thereafter.

Larry Claiborne played really well. The D looked pretty good. Asa was a monster down there on the goal line stand. I watched the replay and he was in on every tackle there. He should dominate at this level given another year or two of conditioning.

I'm not one to normally bash Student Activities because they really do some things very well, but the parade was ran wasn't very good at all.

well the rain had something to do with that. But they also just didn't think when they put it together.

Plus the girl from student activities kept telling us to go when we had a big fire truck in front of us!

The rain had something to do with it yes, but we didn't even see a single person who knew what was going on until 12:15. They told us to be there to line up at 12pm. When we showed up, three different cars, all between 11:45 and noon, not a single person knew where we were supposed to go. Finally, when they did tell us, they told us to go to the wrong spot. Then they rushed us over to the spot where we were supposed to be. I know the rain hampered it, but the communication just wasn't that great.

I watched the parade yesterday and when I saw the trolley go by my first thought was "that's it?"I mean this probably was the worst homecoming parade in my years at LU (from the rain to the lack of floats and groups to what I'm reading from SJ)

I just want to thank all involved for the hotdog and the lukewarm dr. pepper. And the original sparky shoutout.

i yelled something about sparky but don't think you heard it. i couldn't get the window down fast enough.

SA did a very poor job, and that girl was rude that kept telling us to go and acting like it was our fault that she had no idea what was going on.

that was the first time I've been involved in the parade, and besides SA I really enjoyed it. I just wish the weather had been better

one more thing. two weeks in a row Bevins missed FGs. do you think it has anything to do with C. Rocco not holding for him the last two weeks? i'm just asking, not trying to blame anything on anyone. even Dan Marino made a mistake, everyone knows that. If he had held the ball, laces out, like he was supposed to, Ray Finkle would never have missed that kick. (ace ventura)

I think this week that may have been part of it. Against Lafayette I would say that the wind had a lot to do with it.

MASN (640) is re-airing the game Tuesday, 10/28/08 at 7pm. No one call me, no one TM me, no one bother....I'm going to be busy during that time ;)

SJ - do you think they'll show your videos???

I'll be watching the replay of the game too. They have a 3 hour block, ith commercials and the game form start to end was 3 hours so I imagine it will be a bit condensed with the half being cut and some other things.
