... in 2004 absolutely ruined his future in 2004.

The Duke starting lineup may have a different look this season and no one will be smiling more than Kyle Singler.

Look for 6-foot-10, 230-pound freshman Miles Plumlee to start in the middle – and don’t be shocked if Nolan Smith takes three-year starting point guard Greg Paulus’ job.

Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski said that “no one can lose something they haven’t got” when asked about Paulus losing his spot.

But it was apparent from watching practice yesterday that Smith has currently moved ahead on the depth chart.
Man, I never really liked Paulus but he could be in the NFL next year or maybe even this year making millions. Who knows. Now he's a senior and looking like just a role player on a mediocre basketball team. I guess he'll have a decent degree though.

paulus always sucked at hoops to begin with. should have went into football. that's pathetic when you start for three years at duke and get supplanted by a freshman.

I'd love to see a link to a ranking service that had Greg rated a the top ranked HS football in the US. I doubt you find one. He had a great career in NY but he is undersized for an NFL qb. To the article at hand, maybe you missed the part where it mentions his injury having something to do with his benching. Personally, I think it has to do with his injury as well as how good Nolan Smith is going to be. Paulus is a great shooter but Nolan may be more of an all-around threat. And I'd love to hear your definition of mediocre if you consider Duke mediocre. Is it Top 15 in the COUNTRY? They may not win the national championship this year but they are far from mediocre.

I love the hate and jealousy of people toward the Duke program. Luconn, how come you haven't been posting the articles talking about Nate Miles being kicked off the team for stealing (Where have we heard that before with the UCONNVICTS) or ole Stanley Robinson's struggles with eligibility or Majoks. Plenty of this is news but you don't come running here to flame your own team.

Duke may have had a few down years but one thing that hasn't been down is the class of the people in their program. You could only wish to be so lucky.

Paulus is a major liability on defense. The only positive he brings over Smith is his ability to hit the 3.

Plumlee will open some eyes, I think. His style of play is identical to Singler, IMO. Which is probably a bad thing if he's playing mainly center.

1st, Paulus was the Gatorade NPOY. Is that not the top rated player?

This whole statement is laughable. I started the thread because I kinda feel bad for a guy who just chose the wrong sport. Nothing to do with Duke. If it did have to do with Duke I'd talk about how difficult it must be for K to consistently turn McBurger AAs into trash. I also don't start threads about Uconn's troubles because I don't think anybody on this board cares. I've got a uconn board for that, but I can do it here if you'd like. But the funniest of all is the "jealousy" thing. Not only does Calhoun own k, even if he didn't Duke hasn't really done much lately to be jealous of.

Casper

ESPN had him listed as the #1 QB

Scout at #9 - was higher until the end of that year, like #3 or 4

Who is the better all-time coach is a debate for another thread, but one guy obviously has the other guy's number. I'll let you infer who comes out on top.

With three of seven games being decided by a total of five points, I'm not so sure I'd say one obviously has the other's number.

Although I watched all 6 games, I can only comment on the last 3 as I wasn't really old enough to intelligently watch a game when I was younger. But those last 3 games were completely determined by the coaching.
