Submitted without comment (for now).

Should Division I basketball be split into I-A & I-AA divisions like in football?

Oh, and I-AA schools would still be eligible for the national championship. I'd support some tweaks to the current system, but still, no changes so that a George Mason can still make it to the Final Four, and such.

What would be the point of two divisions if they're still fighting for the same championship in the end?

I definitely wouldn't want to see a I-A/I-AA split for basketball. I don't really see what that would accomplish.

What would be the difference? Less scholarships for AA?

I dunno why, but I just think it's a good idea. Have 2 separate tournaments of like 40 each. Gives kids more exposure on the lower level, and condensing the field at the upper level might not be such a bad thing.

I hate it...that is what makes march madness so special...when small schools such as Davidson make a run, its so exciting

I know you said I-AA teams would still be eligible for the national championship..which would raise the question...why split the two if they are eligible for the same championship?

doesn't make any sense

I dunno, maybe say the final four or two teams in the I-AA championship get auto bids to the sweet 16, or something. Dumb idea, but still.

The disparity between the top echelon in college basketball and the mid-rungs is far too great. I see how we, as Liberty fans, are excited at being ranked in the top 25 and having a chance to play for the postseason. We don't really have that for basketball. If we're going to be stuck in a low-major, let's make the most of it.
