Some of Lang's best writing ever:
Storm Davis — the former major league pitcher and father of Liberty left tackle Zach Davis — and his wife Angie used to joke about wanting more kids. “I said, ‘honey, we’re in our 40s!’” Davis said with a laugh. “We can’t have another baby.”

Instead, the Davises opened their home and hearts to two children who were in desperate need. Justin and Stephanie Vargas’ home was broken, and they had little choice in where to go. Stephanie was friends with Erin Davis, Zach’s younger sister, and Justin was friends with Caleb Davis, Zach’s younger brother. Which is how Zach Davis and Justin Vargas, who split reps at left tackle for the Flames, became brothers. “They took me and Stephanie in, and they’ve loved us like their own,” Vargas said.

Vargas, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound sophomore, did not want to go into great detail about the events that led him to become a member of the Davis family. (Storm and Angie were Justin and Stephanie’s legal guardians until they turned 18.) The past is too painful, and he wasn’t interested in re-living it.

Great read, Chris.

And I think we're going to be just fine with Vargas at LT.
