Western Carolina (2-5, 0-3 Southern) at
Wofford (4-1, 2-0 Southern)
A Western win at any point during their conference run would be amazing... just don't look for it at Wofford.
Elon (6-1, 4-0 Southern) at
Chattanooga (1-6, 0-3 Southern)
Elon is on the road... that's about the only thing they have against them in this game. Phoenix should win big.
Charleston Southern (3-3, 1-0 Big South) at
Stony Brook (1-5, 0-1 Big South)
First Big South game played on Long Island... and I think Tribble and Co. take care of the Seawolves.
Southern Illinois (3-2, 2-1 Missouri Valley) at
Youngstown St (2-5, 1-2 Missouri Valley)
The 'guins have been a disappointment, but can redeem themselves this week with a win over nationally ranked SIU. Pulling for Y'Town in this one.
Presbyterian (3-4, 0-3 away) at
Gardner-Webb (2-4, 0-1 Big South)
I think the Hose take this one... G-W just doesn't seem to have the killer instinct it takes to, ya know, SCORE POINTS.
North Carolina Central (1-5, 0-4 away) at
Coastal Carolina (3-4, 0-2 Big South)
If CCU loses this game, they are clearly just tanking their season to ruin our playoff chances. That, or CDB is trying to get fired so he can apply for the Clemson job.
(Kidding on both accounts, I think CCU takes care of NCC by a few touchdowns)
Other Games to Watch (Rankings/Playoff Implications):
Cal Poly (3-1, 1-0 Great West)
South Dakota St (3-3, 2-1 Missouri Valley)
Cal Poly has started off the year really well, but haven't really proven themselves. A win over SDSU would virtually eliminate the Jackrabbits and solidify the guys from SLO as contenders. A loss by Cal Poly would probably knock them out of the playoffs. Not sure what I want from this game, but seemingly it's an elimination game for the playoffs. I think I'm pulling for SDSU in this one, just because their Mascot is the Jackrabbits.
North Dakota St (3-3, 1-2 Missouri Valley) at
Northern Iowa (4-2, 2-1 Missouri Valley)
A battle of ranked teams in the MVFC will determine a lot about who will win this conference, and who will be on the outside looking in. NDSU needs to run the table to have a real chance at the postseason, in my opinion, and winning in Northern Iowa just doesn't seem to be
that easy. Panthers by a couple touchdowns, and NDSU calls it a year in terms of playoff hopes.
Richmond (4-3, 2-2 CAA)
Massachusetts (4-2, 2-1 CAA)
Richmond is widely considered one of the best teams in the nation, but they have 3 losses! A 4th loss for the Spiders could spell trouble, even if it is to a good UMass team. I am pulling for the Minutemen in this one.
Central Arkansas (5-1, 1-0 Southland)
Texas St (4-2, 1-0 Southland)
All Liberty Fans should be UCA Bears fans, as well. The Southland conference member Central Arkansas are not eligible for the playoffs this year (they are in transition), but have a VERY VERY good team. They knocked off SHSU, from Sly's neck of the woods, last week, while the Bobcats knocked McNeese State in a HUGE upset. However, I have to pull for UCA in this one, since the more they win, the less wins there are for the playoff eligible teams in their conference.
