Pelosi would not automatically become the VP...
...she is only 1st in line if something happens to BOTH the Pres and VP at the same time.

I would take Biden over Palin anyday. But my vote will go in regards to the president, not the VP. I'm not sure who I would choose between Pelosi and Palin, I abhor both.

Pelosi=tons of botox
Palin not so much

Gotta go with the latter on that one.
Uh, oh. Did I just repair some of the cracks in the glass ceiling?

I've also substantiated my claims, you just don't seem to want to listen to anything other than a media outlet or rather to anyone who disagrees with you, which to me, shows that you are incapable of thinking for yourself.
I was hoping to ponder a simple quote supplied by yours truly to support your contention that another human being was "ignorant" in the debate or that "the woman simply hasn't shown she is capable of speaking or putting together coherent thoughts on issues in an intelligent manner."

Any quote from the debate at all to show you know what your talking about????

Watch the entire debate. The quote is basically anytime she speaks.

I'll take that as a no, unless you'd like to comment on which quote you especially thought was the most "ignorant" for your liking.

You can take it however you want. The woman can barely put a sentence together and it's evident during the entire debate. Is Palin your daughter or something? There are some people that do like her, but there is hardly anyone who thinks she's a mental heavyweight.

Seems like someone is hung up a little too much on a one-time public speaking event to determine someone's intelligence. Palin is a tool of the McCain campaign, and as such, she was told what to say. Many times during the debate it seemed as if Palin could not say what she wanted to, because she has to support the top of the ticket. She didn't get to where she is by being an idiot, and when you take substance over style, Palin is much more the intellectual than Obama or Biden. Sure, Biden came across as sounding smarter, but when half of what he said was an outright lie, and the other half a flawed ideology, then I think it's a real stretch to paint Palin as the bimbo. That's the media's playbook right now, and it seems to be getting into some people's heads.

So now this is a politically correct board? Of all places I think this would be the one where people avoided that recent phenomenon. She appears pretty ignorant to me, and I'll call it like I see it. And from those I talk with that don't seem to be hard line one way or the other, and even those firm Repub., they seem to agree.
Its tough when you call someone else ignorant, then can't substantiate your thoughts when asked, I know, I've been there.

You get no sympathy, however, by coming onto a board loosely associated with LU, talking about an Evangelical Christian, pro life governor who happens to be running for VP in terms of being "ignorant." Especially when you were not able to give a single quote from the debate to substantiate your claim.
I didn't come on here to attack, just to offer a personal opinion and share the ones I've heard around me. I have no reason to root against Palin. For the sake of the country I hope McCain is elected, but for the sake of the country I hope he doesn't pass away in the office either. I've also substantiated my claims, you just don't seem to want to listen to anything other than a media outlet or rather to anyone who disagrees with you, which to me, shows that you are incapable of thinking for yourself. Do a little thinking/observing on your own rather than reading the reaction of a person paid by an organization or someone who has an agenda. I was just offering the opinion of those that are mostly in the middle or Republican and aren't getting paid to offer an opinion. There are plenty of those that are Republican or will most likely vote that way out there, and many of them are embarrassed she is on the ticket. The woman simply hasn't shown she is capable of speaking or putting together coherent thoughts on issues in an intelligent manner. That doesn't make her a bad person, it just makes her someone I wouldn't vote for in a stand alone situation.
totally agree.

Still looking for a quote from the debate, can't be that hard to come up with one. Or is it? Make it a short one, anything to show the "ignorance" is on Palin's side.

There was this Palin zinger, quoted verbatim:
An armed, nuclear armed especially Iran is so extremely dangerous to consider.”

I find it funny that Baldspot doesn't even get it. You see nothing wrong with the quote? This is how she talks on a normal basis, and why the entire debate shows her ignorance. She can't even speak in correct English. But maybe that is who she is trying to get on board with her, people who have a hard time communicating, those who respond more to winking and catchphrases like "Joe 6 pack" and "Maverick." There are those out there and apparently on this board.

It's even funnier that one guy is stating that I'm influenced by the leftist media and the other is citing news outlets and pundits proclaiming the her speech to be wonderful. So which one is it boys? Should I let you guys pick which media outlets I should watch? I watched the debate and decided for myself what to think, I don't watch nor read reviews of the debate because it is pointless. I form my own opinion based on what they said and how they said it. It's a personal opinion that is not going to change. Palin barely communicates on a level higher than a 8th grader, so I'm not going to back her for one of the highest offices in the nation.

Everyone I have heard (left and right) said Palin did really well in numerous Alaska debates when she was running for Governor so I don't think it is a question of intelligence. In the case of the VP debate, remember Palin has had to learn most of this stuff over the course of 5 weeks. She knows Alaska politics but it will take her a while to acclimate herself to national politics. I also think if she could say what she would like, and not McCain's talking points, she would come off much better.

She wasn't prepared for this, but she is getting there. For me, it doesn't matter because I can't vote for Obama.
I think it is also somewhat beneficial that she doesn't come off sounding like a Washington insider. It helps her argument that she is going to bring something new and differnt to DC.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the quote you actually referred to in your post. Silly me.

In regard to Palin's grammer, we tend to get ourselves in trouble when they start applying Dr Nutter's grammer to newspaper articles, tv commercials, public speaking engagements, etc. Pretty much nobody follows the rules as it doesn't translate well. Pickup the sports page sitting on your desk and you'll see what I mean.

As far as Palin being ignorant on the issues - I was really hoping you could come up with something from the debate. Something to learn from, perhaps.

Issues???? She didn't say anything of substance. But maybe you guys can wink at each other and talk about Joe 6 packs. Perhaps you could learn something by having a few.

This is actually the first intelligent posting on Palin on here. I would agree with you that one thing I like is that she is not inundated by Washington culture, at least not yet. However, even if she isn't up to speed on much of anything, I still can't discount the fact that she can't communicate well and trips over her words.

Substantive debate. Good. Of course she made that point in the debate, so perhaps not everything she said was "ignorant?"
