It's good...bucs win 13-10. I'll post more when I get home.
Neither offense looked good in this game. CSU never really got going, and all three of their scores came when they started their drive in GWU territory. GWU started slow offensively, but their time-of-possession advantage came clear late, and they were able to start pushing CSU around a bit late in the game. The MVP of the game has to go to CSU's punter. He pinned GWU inside the 10 three or four times with a combination of rugby style running punts that bounced and rolled, and high hang-time punts that just dropped in perfectly inside the 10. CSU's kick returner (Stevenson I think, #84) is really good too, and his kickoff return on the last drive was what set-up the game winning field goal. All in all, not the prettiest of games, and though both defenses played well, I think it was offensive ineptitude that had more to do with the lack of scoring. Also, both teams were lousy with clock mgmt at the ends of both halfs...

Two thoughts on the Gardner-Webb offense: They love to run up the middle on first down... even if it hasn't really been working all day. #7 for them is a good WR.

CSU's defense looked good. Their offensive line didn't. Their special teams are pretty good. Like WEF said, the CSU punter did a great job.

Thanks for the insights, horrez. I'm looking forward to seeing Chuck South in person in a couple of weeks.

PAmedic,
I'm so glad I could bring humor to your life. What brought about your stalking I don't know, but I am glad you got your jollies. You remind me of "that guy" who tries to be funny but never is.

I don't think anything I said was off base. I said I think we'll be competitive in all our BS games....not win but be competitive.

Hey, I think I'm hysterical. That's all that matters. Its a Philly thing.

BTW: what do you think of CCU after seeing the results of the game in Conway last Sat nite?
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
