You're exactly right.

"What kind of drink do you want?" It's not pop. It's not soda. It's soft drink if you're saying something like, "I'm trying to cut out my soft drinks" but for the most part, everything's a drink.

I just wanted to make sure. I've never said any of the following: "Hey, could you get me a pop while you're up?", "Hey, could you get me a soda while you're up?", "Hey, could you get me Coke while you're up?" (unless I specifically wanted a Coke). It's always a drink. In most places I guess a drink means alcohol. Here if you want a beer you ask for a beer. If you want a Jack and Coke you ask for a Jack and Coke.

For the record, when I say around here I'm referring to the Triad area. I grew up in Kernersville but went to school with kids from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, etc. I've never heard anybody who was raised in this area say anything else when asking for a drink.

If there was a decent place to see live music I'd agree with you. With Ziggy's now closed there's nowhere around here for decent sized bands to come to unless it's the Coliseum which only gets the biggest bands. For the most part I have to travel to Raleigh or Charlotte for a show. In fact I'm driving to Raleigh on Sunday for a concert.

Dude, Greene St in Greensboro. Not as big as Ziggy's but it pulls in some good bands. There's a good show on Thursday night that I'd love to go to but can't afford.

I used to like their cover songs back in the day. I'm not big into their style of music anymore but it would be worth checking out if I didn't have to work. I've never been to Greene Street but I've heard it's pretty decent. I definitely don't like NClub which rarely gets bands anyway even though they're a House of Blues venue. I wish they would open up something like Ziggy's in Greensboro. If not, hopefully Greene Street will catch on and get some bigger acts from time to time.

What type of music are you wanting? Greene St is pulling in some bigger bands in the indie/punk/"scene" world.

Also, rumor has it Ziggy's is going to reopen where the Warehouse is.

The Baptist establishment don't want you to know but the forbidden was actually a sweet tea fountain.

Yay. I have my very own FlameFans stalker. And since he's so enamored with me, I thought I'd edit his post to make it look right.

What my Dad forced us to drink when I was in high school, because we were poor: Double Cola (1922). :vomit

Meh, when people say that I can almost guarantee they're from North Carolina. That title goes to champagne cola. Yes, it's a real drink, I just doubt you can find it anymore. Kind of a cream soda/root beer hybrid, so delicious.

I'm more into the "indie" (I use the term loosely) rock vibe right now. Some of my favorite bands right now are Kings of Leon, Black Keys, White Stripes, etc. I really hope they re-open Ziggy's, that would be great.
