Liberty was rewarded for their performance in Youngstown by the league office:

Liberty running back Rashad Jennings (Forest, Va.) and Flames linebacker Nick Hursky (Carnegie, Pa.) have been named the Big South football Choice Hotels Offensive Player of the Week and New Balance Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for games played in week five of the 2008 season, it was announced today by the Conference office. In addition, Gardner-Webb kicker Ryan Gates (Newnan, Ga.) was named Special Teams Player of the Week, while Liberty kicker Matt Bevins (Newport News, Va.) was tabbed Freshman of the Week.

Somewhere in the Triangle Kyle has indigestion allowing that release to come out. Surely there had to be some Chant to promote.

Big time congrats to Rashad, Nick & Matt.

The Triangle is Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. The Triad is Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point. Charlotte, where the Big South league office is, is in neither.

I am familiar with the regional designations for even such an insignificant area. I just had it in my head today that the office was in Raleigh. I beg a thousand indulgences.
