Just to clear something up, Rocco was not lost in the shuffle with Hostetler, maybe Blackledge. Hostetler wound up at WVU because Rocco beat him out as a freshman and PSU was going to move Hos to LB, he wanted to play QB so he moved on to WVU and ended up being pretty good. I had the good fortune of hearing Frank speak one time and I got the impression that his getting lost in the shuffle had more to do with him and some decisions he made than someone else just being better than him.

Which of course does not necessarily mean LU, since there are some terrific christian coaches at other schools, but it sure works in our favor.

I think we have a 1% chance at landing him...so one of the other Christian coach's in the country is where I was hinting towards

The best thing for us would be him staying at LCA. With that being said, I just don't see that happening.

I have no clue. I don't even know that he's going anywhere. I just think he would to prove that he can play quarterback against bigger teams.

They play good teams...I was just talking to my cousin who played in the Seminole District last year and he was talking about the big difference. He said last year he only faced 1 or 2 300lb players and they were not generally athletic, but this year 1 team alone had 2 or 3 VERY athletic guys at that weight....I bet if you were to count how many players on their schedule go D-1/D-1AA there would be more then if you were to count up a Seminole district schedule

I think he'll prep a year personally but we'll see

Best example I can give is that of Dusty Ackley. Yes, it's with baseball, but the same principle still applies.

Everyone knew Ackley could play. Everyone knew he could hit. His high school had won 3 of the past four state titles in 1A baseball. They consistently played 2A, 3A, and 4A teams and he also played with the big boys in showcase ball in the summer time. However, the scouts still wanted to see him against the better competition on a regular basis. His senior year he transferred to North Forsyth, a 4A school just down the road. He's now at Carolina and looks to be one of the top prospects in this year's draft.

What's the point? Everyone knows Mike can play and that he's a great quarterback, but they probably want to see him against better competition on a routine basis.

I agree...I just dont think there are any better options at least locally that play the competition that LCA plays...sure they make some of these teams look like scrubs but these are really good teams with really good athletes that they are making look like little boys

But again, I think you're onto something and that's why I think a Prep year could be the answer.

Could little Rocco be the reason LCA starts a prep team....hmmmm, that would be interesting

I thought prep teams were primarily for guys who can't get the grades or the SAT score to qualify? I doubt very seriously Mike has those issues.

That's what they are used 90% of the time, but you'll see athletes who feel like they need one more years to develop and get a year older. Sometimes a athlete may graduate early/young and want a year to "catch up"

No, his grades will not be an issue when it comes time...he's a very smart kid

Rivals added him to their database as an "Athlete". Interesting.

Sure...a great chance? Hmmm prob not but I do feel better about our chances now then I did a year ago...for a ton of different reasons

I like our chances too. I think he will be a good QB for a team like Penn State or UVA, but he would be a great QB for a team like Liberty. I think he will probably have a better chance of standing out at LU and will be more likely to get drafted if he has a few good years here.

UGA,FSU, and Texas A&M have Christian head coaches. All three of those schools will be in need of a signal caller by that point in time.

Come on, Zack. We like Mike. We wouldn't send him to Collie Station where QBs go into the witness protection program. And who knows how long their current coach will be there? Or perhaps finishing dead last in their division is now acceptable in Aggieland.

This spring should be interesting for Mike. I'll bet he receives a bunch of junior day invitations.

Mack is more of a politician than Barack will ever be. Do you think stunts like that go unnoticed by recruits?

sly, do you think he would rather be an afterthought at another program or a legend at home?
