The weather forecast says it's hot and sunny yet the game is delayed due to lightening!! Coastal is ahead though, 19-11

Coastal LOSES on a TD on a botched snap FG attempt that went for a TD at the end of the game.

CCU fought to the bitter end but lost 23-19. What is it about the home team losing momentum after a rain/lightning delay and losing the game?? Seems like that happened to us against Delaware a couple of years ago. It was sooo sad, we were ahead with at least two or three TD's.

Ooops, my bad. Who was it then? (btw, we played Delaware State instead but that was a different game). Anybody out there remember who we played when we had to halt the game due to lightning?

Youngstown State 2003 if Im not mistaken. We were up 3-0 and had just gotten a huge turnover when there was the lightning delay and YSU went on to win 23-3 or something

I do remember a game with Del. St. when we were way ahead in the 4th Q (like 20 points ahead). I left after several minutes of play and went to meet some friends at Shakers. We lost 38-37, but I'm sure that lightning wasn't a factor. Must have been in the early - mid 90's.

Rogers, I remember that game--I was camping with my Boy Scout troop and kept going back to my truck for scoring updates: Coach Sam's team had a big lead due to our passing game, but then he tried to switch to a running game to run out the clock. After several "4 and outs" for LU, Del. State got back into the game and beat us. I think we set some kind of DI college record by having the largest lead in a 4th quarter of a game that we eventually lost.

Del. State used to bring their high stepping band to Williams Stadium in the old days.

Which makes it all the more ironic and incredible. This is Super Safety without player involvement.

Why is everyone blaming the clock operator? Did the referee signal to stop the clock? Did he signal to keep it going?

Could Colgate be any worse at the 2 minute drill? They botch the snap on the game tying field goal. How did they get there? The QB botched SPIKING THE BALL. They're lucky CCU was probably too preoccupied with keeping one eye on the event police up in the stands.

I thought that only in fairy tales could such a horribly botched final 30 seconds could lead to a W!

By the way- I've heard so much about Super Safety- are there any videos floating around?

"We get up there and we are going to cock it...what happens is he tries to cock it with 20 something seconds left" - Colgate Head Coach Dick Biddle

:dontgetit

I think that's their problem, right there.
