Oh SHOOT

Youre not Leo

HAHAHAHA

In this forum, the general concensus is that it would be really great if the "Southern Style" people wore attire that in some way coincided with Liberty's colors, red and navy blue. Lime green is probably not the best color to wear at a football game. It has been noted however, that dressing up does not make you any less of a fan. Go to Tan State.

a) I apologize for not being down with the lingo, I guess that shortcoming is due to my lack of interest in creeping around on "messageboards" all day.

b) I'll work on it though, just for you.

c) The absence of veridicality in your "posts" (correct me if this is the wrong terminology) is surprising for the amount of time and effort you have clearly committed to this "effort".....

d) Although you have strayed alarmingly far from reality with a majority of what you have reported, I cannot help but feel compelled to express the gratitude which I feel for your aid in publicizing our group! For that I am so very appreciative!

can somebody please tell me why it matters? I've been to games at South Carolina, North Carolina, Clemson, UVA, and at all these schools you see a mix. Some of the more "society" or fraternity types that go with the "southern" look, dress up, because to them it's an "occasion", but they were polos that are orange, or blue, or garnet, or white shirt and tie that is that color. The rest of the kids where the school color on the t-shirt. So what's the big deal here? If there's some kids here that think LU football is an "event" then who cares, at least they are coming! Yes I would hope they were red. But does our student fan base really need to be this childish and have a huge split in it about a freaking fashion statement? We had 15,000+ people there for a game against North Greenville, three years ago we couldn't get 3,000 for Gardner Webb, or Coastal. So let's just wear red, whether it's a polo, a tie, a dress, a t-shirt, heck if a guy wants to wear red pants at least its red! And lets get everyone's butts in the seats and cheer on the Flames!

And, I could are less either way, i'm game for whater, i just want people to be there going nuts, but I will say that if your a guy on this thread and your complaining about girls, LU girls at that, being at a football game in a sundress, something aint right.

Brent Robertson- Liberty Football "Southern Style."

I appologize for the grief the group has caused many of you, it was surely not my intent. After long consideration I will message everyone apart of my group and tell them that it is strongly encouraged to wear school colors. I do not think that what many of you are asking for is an outlandish request. It was just startling to me the way of which many of you lashed out and went about protesting it. But, all that behind us, lets enjoy the game saturday together in our school colors!!

As far as what i have read on these rumors of what a few who may have participated in prior to the game i was in no way aware. Everyone did their own thing before the game, heck, i bounced around to 3 tailgates and nothing struck my suspicion! I do not have control or knowledge as to what others do. All i can do is get people to sit in the same section. haha. So in no way do i or my GROUP support, condone, or practice anything against the Liberty Way. It is unfortunate that rumors of some have affected the cause or image of my group.

At this point, i feel this issue is resolved and we can all cheer on The FLAMES this saturday together!!

Brother In Christ,
Brent Robertson

This is really sad and just shows how pathetic Liberty people are sometimes.... I agree with Smoothie on this, I was up at UVA this past weekend and caught the 2nd half of the LU game and have been to tons of SEC and ACC games and for you guys to make such a big deal about this is pretty sad... From where this school was 3 years ago when only 2,000 people where in the stands to tell someone that they shouldn't wear anything but Red is mind boggling!!! Keep wearing your Polos and sundresses... All that matters is that you are there... But I guess we could just not let everybody in who doesn't have on a red shirt...This thread just shows closed minded must people are on here...

I'm just glad to see a mutual understanding has been met. Congrats to both sides for recognizing the other's position and then reaching a common ground.

Or it goes to show how much your reading comprehension is absolutely terrible.

SuperJon wrote:Just make it school colors. How hard is that. If you want to dress up then great, have at it. I'm all for seeing girls in sun dresses. Just make it school colors. That's all I'm asking.
SuperJon wrote:You can still dress up and do these things and wear red at the same time. That's the part that bugs me.
SuperJon wrote:I'm not complaining about them dressing up. I'm complaining about them going completely against the school and the athletic department by saying don't worry about wearing red, it doesn't matter.
SuperJon wrote:Once again: dressing up is ok, but please make it a school color.
SuperJon wrote:I don't care what their shirt says, what their chest says, or whatever, as long as they're at the game and have school colors on them then I don't have a problem with it. If it says LUnatics, if it says SFC, if it says Liberty, if it says Red Hot, if it says Ralph Lauren, I don't care, as long as it's a school color.
SuperJon wrote:I don't care if they come to the game in polos, sun dresses, speedos, or bikinis, as long as they're school colors and hopefully red. That's where the issue comes from.
SuperJon wrote:A fan is a fan, and you are correct. However, the basis of this ENTIRE argument is that they were telling people to wear something other than red. That's the problem.
SuperJon wrote:You are right, looks don't matter. Starting a promotion against what the school is doing is what matters. If they want to show up wearing pink and lime green then more power to them, but don't tell other people to do the same thing.
SuperJon wrote:For the 700th time:

Sun dresses are fine.

Polos are fine.

Painted chests are fine.

T-shirts are fine.

Speedos are fine. Ok, maybe not.

All of these things are fine and encouraged but please, please, please, please let them be in school colors.
That's just from the first two pages.

We can't keep growing if everyone keeps looking to the past and is saying, "Be happy with what you've got, this is where we were three years ago." For us to keep getting better, we can't look at three years ago, we have to look at a year ago. Last year we had record attendance. Last year wearing red started catching on. This year we're promoting it even more. This year we're hoping for better attendance. If we compared ourselves to three years ago we'd just get complacent and not want to get better.

The guy who created the group is encouraging his members to wear school colors. That's all I ever wanted. I can't thank him enough for that. It may have taken fighting and people saying dumb things but the point was gotten (is that a word?).

Edit: Crap, you people posted while I was. That was responding to GMTM.
