Several players will be in the running to take Manns’ spot on defense, including Tim Torrence, Brandon Saunders, KaJuan Lee and Brandon Robinson.

Yeah, I think we’ll be ok at DB. If anything it hurts our depth and could hurt us against Elon, but by then hopefully whoever takes his place would be good enough to match up with their receivers.

Well, I feel a little bit better now. I hope that Torrence can make some better plays than he did last year.

More bad news on the injury front: Linebacker Mike Connolly went down with a knee injury Tuesday and will be sidelined at least six weeks. More will be known on the extent of Connolly’s injury today. … Running back Wes Cheek will be out four to six weeks with torn cartilage in his knee.
I think it's time for a sticky thread with all the injuries :x

Boy that depth Coach built is sure going to come in handy now! WOW! I hope this stuff stops.

This is getting ridiculous with all of the injuries. Everyday we keep adding more. We are losing some guys we really could use when we run through the gauntlet of our schedule at places like YSU.

And Chris, never be shy about self-promotion. It is all about the marketing, my man.

Interesting to note a Baltimore Ravens scout was at practice.

It was Kyle O'Donnell who was injured, not Connolly. That's my mistake. I mis-read my notes. It's been corrected in the online version.

Who steps up in O'Donnell's place? Tinsley?

Tinsley's still out recovering from his knee injury.

My guess is that it'll be Connolly (who clearly isn't injured) or Doncel Bolt, the JUCO kid.

Or maybe (taking a stab in the dark), they move Bannon back inside and move Connolly up on the OLB depth chart.

I think all these LB's being hurt means we should play some 4-3 with Dugan and Asa in the middle! :)

(Presby's O-Line would just fall over in surrender if we lined up like that.)

Just read the injury report. We are going to be missing a ton of guys. I think the silver lining is if we can get through the first 6 weeks with one loss, we will have most everyone back for the Lafayette game.

Just a thought: 6 weeks from now is hitting right around the open date. Assuming no major damage on O'Donnell, he's still back in business in time for Youngstown. In fact, the only reported injury who'd miss significant time is Manns.

I think it’s imperative that either O’Donnell or Tinsley is back by YSU. Hopefully at least one will be back for WCU.

By the way, any news on the MRI O’Donnell had last night?

That's what I was thinking. I am pretty sure that the team will be okay against NGU and that West Virginia team without all the starters, so we really don't need to be in all out panic over this.

Three dumb questions. 1. What time is media day tomorrow? 2. Is open to the public? if so 3. Is it held outside or in the FOC?
