I imagine Vince Redd will win simply because he played football, but it's hard to look past two very talented freshman in Scripko and Jenkins. Even Gilbert and Kigen would probably win this in most years. Simply shows how great of a year we had, and shows how bright of a future we have as well.

Alright, who's stuffing the ballot?
An hour ago, Jordan was ahead with 40%...since then, about 60 votes have been cast, most presumably for Vince.

Was Vince named Conference Freshman AND Player of the Year? Was he the VaSID rookie of the year? No and no. Thats how I could NOT vote for him. Jordan was a true freshman, Vince was a transfer.

And the award is called "Newcomer".

Vince fits the bill, and Vince was a beast.

I didn't vote for him, tho. :P

Exactly, he was an "MLB Rookie".

Don't see why that is such a big deal...

If they wanted the award to be freshman of the year, that's what they'd call it.

Just like, if the MLB wanted it to be the "Best player right out of college or high school" that's what they would call it.

Jordan Jenkins wins best newcomer.

You can now vote for best female athlete for either Jordan Jenkins, Kallie Corbin, Megan Frazee, Amy Oberlin or Beth Bennett.

Jenkins wins.
Liberty fans now have the opportunity to choose the past year’s Best Male Athlete from among the following five options: Tim Harner (Wrestling 141-pounder), Clendon Henderson (Men’s Track & Field thrower), Rashad Jennings (Football running back), Josh McDougal (Men’s Cross Country/Track & Field distance runner) and Alex McLean (Men’s Basketball forward).

Is that why he transferred?
