As you guys know, I am a believer in playing the best player we have for every position. you always play your best players.

I'm not sure if I know what you're saying. Should the best player play? :dontgetit
I wish there was a middle finger Emoticon. haha. But seriously, sometimes repetition is necessary to get the point across to stubborn people.

Brock Farrell won the Luke 2:52 award that year. It's an award given out only to graduating seniors.

Brock Smith played a lot more than just the games he started.

* BTW I am just saying that if somebody struggles this year, I think Rocco will be smarter than Karcher and replace them with one of our talented freshmen. I am not saying that Smith or Dugan should not be the starters or that they will struggle this year. I hope they both dominate.
That year our season was over. There was nothing to look forward to except the future, if there was one. That's not the case this year.

I was implying that Brock started games in all three seasons. Im pretty sure he started two or three that year.
I may be wrong, but either way he threw for like 700 yards.

And no. You said because he was recruited/signed by WVU and UVA, that he was the best talent. Because he is the best talent, he will start. Both of those things can be very incorrect.

You also said Colin Dugan could move over to DE.

All three of those statements imply that no, you dont really know what youre talking about. Personally, I dont either, but I know when to say shoot I have alot to learn.

SO if Smith or Dugan struggles this year, we are just going to let them keep playing when there are capable young players sitting the bench?

Youre using the logic of one scenario to defend another.

An underperforming Senior
does not equal
A freshman who will come in and show up all our seniors because he got an offer from UVA

How 'bout this. He;ll be good at just the right time, in just the right situation, at just the time when coach Rocco says so!

I would have thought of him as a Transfer too, since he played at FUMA post-grad. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing him as a Flame this fall :)

Post-grad isn't considered junior college. In terms of NCAA eligibility, Asa's the same as a high school senior.

now i want to see this huge dude

btw, if he wasn't smart enough to be eligible at WVU, I doubt he is smart enough to learn our whole defense in 40 days or however long camp is

Do a google search on him, there are countless articles:

http://www.cvasports.com/news/public/ac ... nter_1.php
Then, there's Asa Chapman, a 6-foot-5, 390 pound lineman, who spent the past two seasons as a post-graduate under Shuman at Fork Union.

Shuman has said Chapman has one of the highest ceilings of any player he has coached, which includes nearly 60 players placed in the NFL.
According to this article, he did not qualify:

http://www.philsteele.com/Misc%20Pages/ ... uries.html
DT Asa Chapman - DNQ
http://www.roanoke.com/sports/uvainsider/wb/102722
Chapman once was viewed as a prototypical nose tackle for Virginia’s 3-4 scheme, but his weight soared to 394 pounds after his arrival at Fork Union and he was listed at 6 foot 5, 388. In a late-season match-up with Hargrave Military, he was too top-heavy to keep his balance and couldn’t hold up to Texas-Tech bound Hargrave center Justin Keown.

That last article is troubling...

I absolutely loved this quote from the article:

"Chapman will long be remembered at Fork Union for the day that Shuman discovered a pack of M & M’s in his helmet."

I'm really high on this guy and am expecting great things from him pretty quickly ... but you have to wonder.........
