I'm guessing that's not much of a problem for you all back in Mebane.

I thought that, eventually, the road was supposed to go all the way to the circle. Is that no longer the case?

That whole road is going to make for a great run around campus.

Eventually it's supposed to go that far, but it's not finished that far yet. I think one of the big things now is replacing the road by the baseball field and this does that.

This is one of the biggest debates on campus...wither to close it down all together, use it as a one way road or keep it as it is...I believe we'll see it as a one way road

if they make it a one-way road they better mark it very, very well...because people are idiots around here and can not drive and this isn't just students...its everybody in this city....they will be so use to it being a two-way road they will just automatically assume it still is unless there are huge signs stating otherwise....

i think they just need to get rid of the road all together...make it into a nice walk-way or something....

Eventually if we make Worthington into a stadium it's going to have to be closed.

The funny thing about the road around the baseball field is that it NEVER stays in decent shape. The daily traffic just seemed to tear up the surface on a regular basis. If they kept it, maybe they would finally put down a good substrate so that the problems wouldn't continue to pop up (or down for the potholes) every 6 months. If you are going to build a road, you might as well do it right!

eventually... once attendance is high enough and the money is there. that could be a few years. until then it needs to be used for something else. being a road has not worked out for it so well though

Liberty Lane is now a one-way street headed West from University Blvd. toward the Reber-Thomas Dining Hall.

Didnt know where else to put it. This seems like its going to be a big hassle, and a huge headache the first month and a half being back on campus because Liberty has some idiotic drivers who will take a while to realize they cant go down that road anymore.

The road is plainly marked, including arrows, as one-way...however...there are no signs (if anyone in admin is reading) to say "NO LEFT TURN" or "NO RIGHT TURN" by the rot and old tennis courts. This would be most helpful.

what is the purpose of the one-way street?? is it just to the old tennis courts and then it goes back to two-way traffic?

It won't be any worse than the entire circle being one way, as it used to be. The first 2 weeks of school you'd have idiot frosh and their overprotective parents who won't go home driving the wrong way.

the road was in such bad shape it was already one way in several areas. this will alleviate traffic coming from CN to the ROT/sonic entrance and make the perimeter road and main road less crowded

Your thinking a different road. Liberty Lane or whatever is the one that makes the T intersection with University Blvd in front of the religion center

I'm not sure what the purpose for it is. They did increase the parking spaces by adding angled spaces along one side of the one way street. But now, with it being one way and the road by the stadium being closed, the only way to get from the Sodex area back to Campus North is to loop around the old tennis courts and Schilling or to exit campus over the train tracks. Once the new road is open you can go around the back of the baseball field, but it isn't open yet.

The new road should be open real soon. The guardrail pylons are laid out along the road and it appears that installing those and the final paving are all that is left. They also built a cut-through straight across from where the road comes out by baseball to the rot parking lot.

Rode on it last night...gave me a whole new perspective of just how much unused land there is left on campus.

It would also appear the road above the baseball field is closed for eternity.
