Rays and Sawx...carry-over from last night when Crisp took out the Rays' fielder at 2b...on a STEAL attempt. Shields' first pitch to Crisp low and in...drills him on the thigh...and all heck broke loose.

Crisp shouldn't have charged the mound. He's to blame for the entire thing.

Blocking the bag on a close play is part of the game. That's why a lot of people don't like diving head first. Had Crisp gone in feet first, he would've had no problem.

Crisp decided to take matters into his own hands and take out the shortstop on a steal attempt. You don't do that. That's just dirty.

The ball thrown at Crisp was below his waist. When you throw at a player, that's where you throw the ball. The ball wasn't around his hands, elbow, or head. Getting hit for what he did is part of baseball. All you do is have your pitcher throw at one of their scrubs later in the game. You don't attack the pitcher for something like that.

On a side note, there are NO cheapshots when a player attacks your pitcher. Was it dirty? yes. But the point of throwing at him was send a message to Crisp. He obviously didnt get it, so make sure he pays.

I wish Crisp really got what was coming to him. Not saying I wouldnt be ticked, but when you charge the mound youre fair game to anyone, even Don Zimmer. Oh wait thats different

It all depends on where you were hit. If you're hit in the leg, don't charge the mound. If you're stuck in the upper back or the ball comes at your head, charge the mound and take your bat with you. They hit him in the leg. Just go to first base.

Obviously thats a good idea, but if Crisp walks to first base, he "loses" this battle. The other option is to beat a lanky white guy to a pulp, and show that you wont back down. Theres nothing wrong with chargin the mound after that. Was the whole thing mostly his fault? yyep. But I dont fault him for charging.

I do think hes a complete idiot for trying to make the Rays' players look like soft girls who only take cheap shots.
