I hesitate to put this on here. Not because I don't appreciate the prayers, but because of fear of jinxing if it doesn't happen.

I heard back from a station in Nashville yesterday wanting to talk to me about a position. This is a station I really wanted to work at, but didn't actually think it would happen. My wife's aunt knows the program director so maybe that helped, I don't know. I e-mailed him back and he should be getting back with me soon.

So I guess just pray I don't get too excited either way...but also if its in the cards, let it happen...thanks guys!

had the phone interview today...it seemed to go well. He is interview 5 other people as well...so i have a 1 in 6 shot at this thing....

anyways i think it went well...probably the best interview I have ever had...he said he should know by Monday who he wants...I would start July 7th which would mean moving fast...but it would be all very much exciting...

anyways...prayers are still appreciated...thanks guys!!

I'll be graduating in December with a degree in Finance and am worried about finding a good job. Right now I'm a bank teller and my wife makes a lot more than me. I really don't know exactly what I want to do but I want to stay in the Greensboro area. Any ideas or suggestions that I should follow at this point to be prepared when graduation rolls around?

that big CITI building between greensboro and burlington always has a huge hiring sign on it. I don't know what they do there, but its a finance place so maybe you could check that?

got an e-mail from the guy I interviewed with last week. He said he has been held up by some things going on this week at the station but hopes to make a decision by the end of the week.

The anticipation is killing me...I just want to know one way or another....

i have realized I haven't kept people in the loop with what is going on with this...simply because there isn't much to say...

I had the phone interview about a month ago and it went very well...the next week the production guy at the station quit, so the guy who is hiring me got a whole new responsibility thrown on his plate along with the position i was going for. So he is doing the work of 3 positions during the busiest time of the year for this station...he e-mailed telling me some of this and that he hasn't had time to sit down and make a decision, but hoped to do that as soon as he had a spare moment.....

There has still been no decision made one way or the other and so I am kind of in limbo. I have applied for several non-radio jobs around here as back-up....but both my wife and I want this to happen...Nashville would be great for both of us...especially since she is already doing part time work for a publicist in Nashville.

All this waiting and not knowing got to me so I e-mailed a friend of mine who works for the same company at a station in Florida and he said it was a month and half before he got the call that he got the job he currently has...so that was comforting...

wow...this has been a book...obviously this is a big deal for me...so just remember me in your prayers...thanks guys

I hear KSBJ here in Houston might have some opportunities if the Nashville deal doesn't work out. The ESPN station here in Houston doesn't have the Texans contract this season so my radio career may once again be done.

KSBJ is the nation's top Christian station. They win the GMA national station of the year every year and have a multimillion dollar budget. In Christian radio, it is the top of the ladder and it sits in a Top 10 market.

yeah i see that after looking into it more...kind of weird that they are looking for 4 or 5 different positions...

They are installing HD radio and as a result they are building two new studios for two new formats. So they are looking to greatly expand their staff.

ahh yeah...makes sense...I think HD radio could be an answer to satellite radio...or at the very least help....we shall see...all i know is this is not the first station I have seen expanding because of HD....its good news for people like me...I am updating my resume and demo with a few new things and i am going to see if they bite...never really thought about texas before...and not really sure how the wife feels about it...but hey, may as well try and see what happens....the worst that can happen is nothing...

received word today that i did not get the position in Nashville. I guess it was between me and another person who worked part time at a sister station and ultimately they decided to hire from within...which i understand...just wish it didn't work out that way...

I don't know what is next but in the mean time I will keep doing what I am doing...I have been applying for jobs all around this city...not much of it in radio...but maybe God wants me elsewhere...who knows....

I can't tell you how many jobs I was bummed over not getting only to look back with a big sigh of relief. Keep focused on God and you'll find where he wants you to be is even more fantastic than what you can choose.
