"Lynchburg College (web) has hired one-time E.C. Glass and Roanoke College standout Hilliary Scott as its new men's basketball coach. Scott, a '94 Roanoke College graduate, has been an assistant at Penn State the past five seasons, helping guide the Nittany Lions to double-digit win totals each of the last three years. Before Penn State, Scott worked five seasons as an assistant at East Tennessee State."

"Dr. Jack Toms, Lynchburg College Director of Athletics - "That is someone that knows the ODAC, that can recruit in the state of Virginia which I think are huge assets. And being a local coach from E.C. Glass where he did his high school work I think is just going to be great for the community. He has all the qualities of an outstanding coach."

Dennis Carter mentioned on WSET that the coach was chosen from a pool of over 200 applicants.

I feel like Ahmad Rashad by calling everybody my boy or my main man but Hilary really is my boy. He was at Glass when I played at LU and we knew each other from the playgrounds in Lynchburg. He was at Roanoke College coaching when I was at William Campbell and I tried to get him to recruit one of my players. I ran into him at the Final 4 the past couple of years. He is a good guy. I was hoping LC would hire former Liberty assistant and former Nyack College head coach John Jones but Hilary is a great hire for them. He knows the area well.

I imagine the final four as just one big Scarborough cocktail party. Scar and his 20,000 closest friends.

You have me mixed up with Ritchie McKay. That guy knows everyone and everyone loves him...I do run into a ton of friends at the final 4 though. To answer flamesball's question, yes I think I hung out with all non-division 1 coaches from Stephon Leary, John Jones, and Glyn Turner to Ryan Mantlo, Bob Davis and Chuck Martin. Mantlo was last year though. I have only been to 2 final 4's and both were a ton of fun.

I know of a couple of division 1 assistants that applied for this job. LC is not a bad job for a young coach. Being a head coach even at the division III level is an excellent way to showcase your coaching skills.
