I'm just saying what evidence besides this one event, do you have that says transfers are trouble makers.

I didnt see your post until just now....in no way are all transfers trouble makers....and I wouldnt even agree with the statement "besides this one event"...I dont think this has anything to do with where they came from before, it was a mistake that anyone from anywhere is just as capable to make

with things such as curfew, drinking, smoking (maybe? do people even smoke anymore?) and other things like that, I can understand how it's tough for transfers to just all of the sudden stop either being around it or doing it...for the last 2 years they have been surrounded by it and it's normal for them to see it often...should they stop? Sure, they are now held to different standards...but its still a struggle I know


This incident doesnt have to do with transfers really...at least I dont think...I mean it's not like this happens all the time at other schools so they think "hey I've been surrounded by this stuff for the last few years so why not"


My roomate of 4 years played baseball and he is the result of a non Christian coming to LU and getting saved, and it changed his life and he feels indebted to LU for that, it doenst always work out like that...it took him a solid year or 2 before the change took place but its a story like that which sticks with me as far as transfers go


it's misunderstandings like this why message boards are bad sometimes b/c I think we all agree, but its tough to get to that conclusion at times


regardless of the people on the WSET blog or whatever else....these things are a VERY small % of what makes up LU and really these incidents are a VERY small % that makes up those accused lives...hopefully they'll bounce back and learn from it and prove that this was just .000000001% of their life and that it doesnt define them

Student athletes or just students they are still facing the same struggles...it's just that the athletes get caught more b/c they have names that are identifiable and easily remembered (caughts not a good word....publicized).....if anything it's the student athlete who fears repercussion more than the student....I'd venture to say a normal student that transfers from Coastal is more likely to do things like pick up a beer with friends in public then a football player that transfered to LU, most realize they have more to lose

I disagree. Most people who transfer to Liberty come here because they're looking to get away from that stuff. It's not like an athlete who comes here to get more playing time or something like that. The people who come from other schools, specifically state schools, come to get away from the constant partying and drinking and all of that.

A former Liberty football player was convicted Thursday of assault and battery. Charges against Tyler Tipton came after a fight earlier this year outside of the Buffalo Wild Wings in Lynchburg.
