Liberty University Head Wrestling Coach Jesse Castro has signed his second state champion to a national letter of intent for the 2008-09 academic school year, as Andrew Wilson will be joining the Flames wrestling roster next season.
I don't know much about this kid or Alaska Wrestling programs but #6 in the nation isn't to bad.
I saw this kid wrestle at the NHSCA Junior Nationals. He is a BEAST! Looked like a man among boys (I know-so cliche' but there really is no other way to describe him). Coach Castro was REALLY high on this kid, not just as a wrestler but all around. It's a great pick up for our program (we weren't the only ones going hard after him). This years signing class is looking really strong! I am alreay excited for next year!!
My best friend was a 3x conf. champ @ 152 and 160
his younger brother was 171 conf. champ as a freshman (only year he wrestled)
guy that lived with them went 50-2 as a senior (state champ. match he won 11-2)
- 1st loss was a call after time expired in OT that almost started a riot.
-2nd loss was a DQ in conf. finals. other guy sucker punched him at the end of 1. start of 2 he picked him up and drove him head first into the mat. guy went to the hospital in a neck brace (last time he sucker punched anybody though...)
are alaskans the new cowbell?
more alaskans please!
