If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

I grew up a VT fan...and I'll stay a VT fan at some level, no matter where I go or went to school. However, anytime Liberty plays VT in anything, I'll always cheer on the Flames.

And I expect it'll be the same way for those who grew up Duke/UNC/whatever fans on here as well.

TBGBG makes a good point. Where I grew up, everybody was an ODU fan for the most part (you di dhave your VT fans and UVA fans for football and some UVA fans for basketball but around here ODU was the school to root for). If I had to pick a team to pull for itd probably be ODU because its where I grew up. Would I have a different attitude if I lived down in NC along Tobacco Road? More than likely.

Who cares? Root for your school, that's where you go/went.
It's Liberty above all. However, we weren't playing basketball for four weeks. Gotta cheer for someone.

so your telling me that if you grow up going to games and watching the ones you don't go to on tv, having your room and half your wardrobe devoted to a team, and having intense feuds with your friends from k-5 until college about your favorite team, that you should just drop them all of a sudden if you go to a different college?

Yes, you didn't attend that college/university. Support your own school. I always laugh at people who root for a school and they didn't even go there. It's fine to pull for someone else on occassion but to take it to the level of support for your own school is absurd. Just my opinion.

I agree...I have certain schools I like to see do well, and certain schools I like to see fail, but I just can't get as passionate about other schools as some people I know get....but whatever, thats just me and I won't ever understand the other side I suppose

It must truly be sad then to realize you will never get to more than "pull" for a college football team.

Oh yeah, by the way, sorry to interrupt such a great discussion, but what an amazing game last night. That was such a fun game to watch from start to finish. Both teams deserved to win it, but for some reason Rose decided he didn't need to shoot at any time during OT, so Kansas basically had one less person they had to guard. But still, a perfect end to the season.

They lost because CDR missed 5 or 6 free throws and Rose missed 1 in the last minute, all after Memphis made their last 10 straight. Then when Chalmers made that shot, it was pretty much over. Memphis didn't play offense or defense in OT. They weren't even out there. Memphis wanted it for 39 minutes, then Kansas took over.

It was Taj.

That was a great game last night. Even better that Kansas won and I won the office pool  :D

This was one of the best championship games I've ever seen. Most exciting since the last time Kansas was there when they lost to Syracuse. Only this time there was no Hakim Warrick to block the game tying shot.
