They got into the hatch, and there was a stockroom of food in there (it makes sense when you watch a couple of more episodes...the first season is on dvd and ABC has a deal where you can download the episodes from the site.)

i have watched this show form the beginning, and the twists and turns are interesting to say the least. im not sure what is going to happen next season, but i see michael still playing a factor in the show. as far as the fat guy hugo, we started to diet after falling in love but she got killed, so im sure he will be pounding mangos and boar next season!

I'm a huge fan. I didn't think anybody else here watched it due to the lack of a thread. How about that finale? Man, so much more was answered than any other episode. Yet there's still so many questions. What a freaking great show. THey really can't have a satisfactory explanation for everything at this point.

If you want to go down the rabbit trail and lose alot of sleep at night, search the following on wikipedia: Lost, Dharma Initiative, Hanso Organization, etc.

It's seeping into the culture, wouldn't be surprised to see the following in Websters 2015 edition:

"Push the Button" col. cultural ref. --of or pertaining to the monotony of one's corporate america work load; as in the sentence I must make sure to push the button to avoid the inevitable.

Theories on who's dead (if any), the idea of a doppleganger element to the show, the idea that some have put forth on other lost message boards of cloning.

If you read the various info on the show and delve into the philosophical and psychological aspects and references, it is quite interesting.

Also, kudos to a show that creates it's own commercials to air during its episode, creating and publishing novels attributed to fake authors and then taking out full page newspaper ads to pitch them--all containing various clues and backstory to the show...

Nah, the writers have pretty much dismissed that lame crap for answers.

I actually wish I had gotten on board when this thing started. But they promoted it as a fictional Survivor-type show and that carried no weight with me. By the time the buzz started growing from the show, I tuned into one episode and had no clue what was going on.

I know you are going to tell me to watch the 1st season on DVD. Who has that type of time other than students?

Frankly the whole phenomenon reminds me of Twin Peaks back in the day.

That's how I figured out what was going on. Each episode is maybe 40-45 minutes? you can find that sometime over the summer I would think. You've got probably 20-25 episodes (I'm not sure how many) to watch by Sept/Oct before the new season starts. Just watch a few episodes per week. You can swing it.

You assume that the writers know what's actually going on. JJ Abrams makes that call and he's the absolute king of lame crap!

Like 24, Lost is a show where I don't actually enjoy the show but I just want to find out what's going on and I don't have time to actually watch from week to week either. Thankfully, I can spend 3 hours on wikipedia and catch up for the entire season.

Blasphemer!!! 24 is SOOOO much better then LOST. I have taken to not watching LOST but TiVoing it b/c A) Too many commercials, they have changed the way they take commercial breaks compared to "regular" TV so more of us are stuck watching it. B) The ENTIRE season could have played out in 2 or 3 episodes. BUT I do enjoy it when ican flip through the commercials AND remember to set the timer a few minutes ahead of time and a few after. (That is another anti-TiVO trick they play) I do suspect however, LOST, like 24 is better to watch on the DVD b/c it is more continuous!

Jack Bauer in CHINA. Next season is gonna be AWESOME. I will eat Chinese food EVERY MONDAY, unless I want something MORE STARCHY in honor of Prison Break

Don't get me started on Prison Break, because it was great. The ending was somewhat anti-climactic and I don't know if the fugitive/conpiracy aspect of next season will be nearly as good. And what's the show without T-bag. I hated him so much at first but he quickly become one of the best characters on TV.

(( Covering my eyes ))

I saw the entire season of PB except the finale. I'm hoping they'll replay it at some point.

The Warden runs off with the Doctor
Michaels brother is shanked by one of the "Sisters"
Michael gets stuck in a tube
And the rest of the gang runs into the guard that got thrown into the hole under the guards break room.
The Female Vice president turns a "Crying Game" spin
The President is Shot and Jack Bauer only has 24 hours to find the assassins or the world will melt b/c of an ecological time bomb planted by GreenPeace

lost is a good show but its also very annoying and stupid at the same time. every show they give us answers to 1 or 2 mysteries yet add about 200 more. by the time the show ends they'll of course left out a few answers because there is no possible way they couldn't have missed a few. The dorks on oceanicflight815.com will go all ape bonkers and the shows producers will claim "i guess we'll never know the answers" or some lame crap like that.

that beign said

i'm glad that they did the scene at the end (by the way did anyone almost turn off the tv...i did...i saw the 2 guys in a tent and was like..."commercial") the last part lets us know that this is the real deal...they aren't dead, they aren't on another planet. they really are on earth and in the now.

a few theories that intrigue me.

- hollow earth theory - do a search for it. basically the earth is made up of layers and there are other oceans and lands below this one. theory was made a long time ago and beleived by many to be true. is the island under the earth? (EM anomoly's that the portugese speaking dudes found)

- island being in one of the 3 triangles in the pacific (like the bermuda triangle) many beleive that the bermuda triangle is because of very strong electromagnetic energy that messes with gps, and other navigational instruments. Being that it is in a triangle we know a few things. that there are ways of getting through them( coord 325) and that a land with that kind of makeup is possible to be made invisible.

- these triangles are also thought to be a point at which the wall between other dimensions aka time travel is very thin.

I think that desmond was sent there by Penny's father. I think libby is involved with the widmores somehow. i think it was planned that he would enter the race and be stranded on the island. "i've got this pest who i don't want to see my daughter. this is my plan". remember widmore is only a few floors away from Hanso Foundation so you have to assume they have somewhat of a relationship. i think the penny is looking for desmond, knows about the island, and will play a huge role in next season.

i don't think desmond turning the key did anything. i think that the white light and the noise was because of him not pushing the button. I think the hatch is not destroyed. i think that desmond did destroy the plane. we know that the whitelight thingy happened before because the "others" didn't really seem to mind it....kind of like "oh this again" i believer what happened was reverse polarity of the magnet. a plane pushes down on against the air naturally. as its beign someone pulled down by the magnetic force of the island, then all of the sudden a reversal of that with the island pushing stuff away from it (the hatch door) could probably tear apart a plane. i know i've seen or heard of this kind of weapons testing by our gvt.

i've very excited to watch next season and already have lal the episodes on dvd so i'll be watching them again this summer.

I have to start narrowing down how much tv to watch in the fall. (My son still wants homesch.; we got him some Japanese books and cd's, etc.). Prison Break is in; 24??? Maybe I should quit now that the Russian thing is resolved. Lost is intriguing and frustrating- why did they trust Michael after knowing what he'd done? Who will Kate end up w/ now that Anna isn't there for Sawyer to mutually exploit? Seeing Sawyer regretfull is priceless; I loved the scene where he let Jack know abt. seeing his dad before the flight; flashbacks are good. Will Danielle ever become reunited w/ her daughter? I love Sahid (sp?)....

my theory about 2/3 months ago was:

- the island is some sort of magnetic anomoly located in a bermuda triangle of sorts...its never been mapped.
- this island was found by people seeking religious freedom
- they inhabited the island for a while
- a corporation finds said island, assumes its uninhabited decides to build a huge testing environment
- Others allow them to build said facilities and after they are finished take it for their own
- the Others are some goofy religion basically....

my theory now:

- the island is some sort of magnetic anomoly located in a bermuda triangle of sorts...its never been mapped.
- a corporation finds said island, assumes its uninhabited decides to build a huge testing environment
- people are pretty much the tests...will they sit and press buttons all day long, will they watch people all day long and continue to write reports
- Ben was born on the island as part of the test
- the island has some sort of power
- the Monster is a screwed up piece of nanotechnology that DHARMA was working on.
- DHARMA on the mainland still thinks everything is still hunky dory
- Ben and the Others are trying to fix themselves as apparently DHARMA has screwed with them and the arrival of the plane jeopardized/contaminated their island.
- the flight that brought us naomi was not to find desmond but to see what was going on after the huge anomoly happened and knocked out communications.
- I think Pennelope isn't what we want her to be...i think shes bad.
- sawyer's main goal in life is fulfilled, he dies either in the next 3 episodes or the beginning on next season.
- the island has been inhabited before (see the pillar, locke's dad was tied to, and the 4 toed statue)....by a civilizations....where i also think thats where Ben is taking everone....

lockes healing powers i have no idea...ben really isnt a bad person....he just has to be bad for the betterment of everyone...
