i LOVE the "53rd top Sr in the country NBA watch" HAHAHHAA 90% of those drafted now are Jr's or below....they would have to have 50 rounds to get to the 53rd best Sr to be drafted...thats why I laugh!

Come on guys - 53rd is not that bad - Russell just got considered a senior on that ranking board and he is number 52 right now!!!! Maybe him and Smithson will be drafted back to back this summer!!! I just wish Armon would declare now, move over Beasley...

These draft board things are pretty much crap shoots the way I see it. You really wont know just how good or bad somebody is as a pro until they become a pro. For every Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Hakeen Olajuwon, and Clyde Drexler, you have a Chris Washburn, Adonal Foyle, Kwame Brown, Shawn Bradley and Robert Traylor. Then you have guys like Ben Wallace, Avery Johnson, Bobby Phills, etc. who are not expected to amount to anything and end up not being drafted, and then when they get the right opportunity, blossom into something great. Smithson, for all the grandstanding he does could either end up just another journeyman with a big head that is forgotten and goes overseas, or he could be a perpetual benchwarmer on an NBA roster, or he just might turn out to be a solid player. We wont know the answer to that right away though

Smithson---its the self aggrandizing that gets me. You should let your game speak for itself rather than creating a website to pimp yourself out, creating t-shirts with the website name and handing them out. He's a decent player but he's not close to being NBA caliber and he's posting his NBA draft express thing on his website????

Realist--glad to see the Winthrop tradition of inability to read or comprehend language is continuing...Did you even bother reading any of the thread or just jump in to post? If you'd read the thread you would have realized that Smithson doesn't actually run that web-site, and while it has a weekly blog that he "wrote" posted he has nothing to do with what is put up there about him.

And last time I checked Smithson also wasn't the one that *ranked himself* in NBA draft express....that would someone else that does that.

I will err on the side of that potentially being sarcasm. Is this guy a tool? He'd fit at a hardware store let's put it that way. In any case, we can't definitively say that he isnt good enough to be in the NBA. There are guys IN the NBA that are only there (or only ended up there) because some GM figured he would be a superstar, and they either are out of the league or a GM didn't have the heart to cut him, even if he really is not that good (Rafael Araujo comes to mind)

The draft is only two rounds guys, and as I said before I never said or implied I expected Smithson to be drafted. In fact, there is NO CHANCE he gets drafted. But he will play -- and he'll have to choose either to go play over seas or take less money and stay in the NBA DL. What happens from there is anyones guess.

Oh please, by adding his own content to the site he's in effect endorsing it. Maybe they didn't sharpen those logic skills at UNCA. While I doubt Smithson has the knowledge to even put up a website, by blogging on it he's supporting it.

Smithson posting a blog on the site is him endorsing the site, therefore making him part of the group of people that made a website for him. If it was just a "Bryan Smithson Fan Site" that he had no part of, no one would say anything. He's contributed all of the pictures and blogs on the site, so in essence, it's his website and someone else is running it.
