I was thinking all week long they'd be a 14, and with the Georgia run through the SEC, they more than likely bumped Winthrop from 14 to 13. I don't know much about Washington St this year.

It was tough to judge where they would fall but WU getting the three top 100 RPI wins really set them apart from anyone else in the 14-15 range, even the other 13's.

I like the match-up. It will be literally two of the slowest paced teams and best defensive teams in the country playing. Score should be in the fifties if not lower.

WU has a chance to win this game but Taj will have to have a big game. Jenkins will not get 33 again. I see them totally geering their whole game plan around stopping him. Chris will be Chris and will guide them as one of the better pure PG's in the country. I see Washington St. winning though.

You really couldn't ask for a better matchup as a 13 seed. WSU is so overrated.

i dont really think winthrop stands much of a chance. they are worse than they were last year year and they are facing a washington st. team that is nasty on defense.

This may be the lowest-scoring game in tourney history.

Agreed, RTF.

50-39 WSU sounds about right to me. The more I look at WSU, the better they look.

That's odd...Winthrop fans being dillusional and stubborn never heard of that before...

I was hoping they'd at least win a round, honestly...but now that they didn't I'll be happy to make fun of them. Bad I know...but, true...

I was pretty close to Winthrop's score, and I gave their D too much credit. Oh well.

Eh, WU just played a bad second half. Everything was icing on the cake after winning the Big South though this year. Had we not won last year I would have been more disappointed.

As for the haters, your team was home watching I must remind you.

As for the future, WU's bench outscored every other team's bench in the Big South by over 100 points. The program rolls on....

Ummm, do you know what ad hominem means? Realist did not commit an ad hominem.

And he was on topic.

He exaggerated a bit at the end, but he's right.

Very "sportscritic" like post for you, JDUB. Well, except I can't imagine sc would use any latin like that.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see any of this game, as in the Richmond area we got to see Duke. Since it was such a tightly contested game CBS barely turned it to another game. Obviously I didn't miss much.

I'll tell ya, If it wasn't for those bad second halves.

Are you really Mel Hankinson in disguise or perhaps a close relative?

Bench scoring? Harris averaged 6.5 per game, which is ok, but he's a senior.

Here's what you have returning:

Corbin-----6ppg (returning starter)
Robinson--6ppg (returning starter)
Faison-----4ppg
Buechert--3ppg (15 minutes per game)
Burton-----2ppg
Valentine--2ppg (13 minutes per game)

Winthrop had a nice run, but as the saying goes: all good things must come to an end. Would it be too much of a stretch to suggest that things appear to be moving in the downward direction? I guess it's time to rebuild. It's Peale's show now.
