I'm a Wisconsin native and a Favre fan, but quite frankly, I'm disappointed if he made his decision as to whether he would continue to play based on whether or not the Packers were willing to break the bank to get Moss. Moss wanted to play for the Patriots and was offered more money by other teams. He would only have left New England for an outrageous sum, and I think the Packers would have been stupid to pay it.

I also think it is an insult to Donald Driver and the talented corps of young recievers who helped him put up big numbers last year, and should be even better next year.

Favre talked a lot about how records don't mean much to him. Isn't it interesting though, that he played just long enough to break them? Now he is retiring even though he is clearly still able to play at a high level and has a team which just came within one incredibly bad pass (by him) of going to the Super Bowl.

Well...I can't blame the guy, but I sure would have loved to see him take one more crack at the Super Bowl

Couldn't we at least spell the guy's name right in the thread dedicated to his retirement?

I think his ESPN hype is best summed up by what I saw last night. I came home after the game to watch some CBB and saw ESPN's bottom line scroll through the league catagories from NCAAB to NCAAWB to FAVRE and then back to NCAAB. Now that's pretty pathetic.

...and for the most part...it was only Top 25 scores and no conf tourney reports.

BTW...great stat. Since 1992, the PACKERS have the best overall record in the NFL. Who knew?
