I really hope that you're Googling those "other" pictures while sitting in the middle of the computer lab and with an RA standing right over your shoulder. Only then will you be able to appreciate the amount of fun I'm having here.

There are subtle differences, however. For instance, this is a mouthbreather and this is a troglodyte.

How can any self-respecting conservative christian vote for this man? what has happened to the LU that I graduated from just a few short years ago? PZ has voted for the correct.

The only reason any self-respecting conservative can even fathom voting for McCain is because all it takes is a look at the other 4 candidates (Obama, Hillary and Nader) to realize that the lesser of 4 evils is better than the most liberal Senator in the place, a power obsessed poll whore (yes i said that - she sells herself to the most popular idea without hesitation) or everyones favorite tree hugger. All three of whom, would CRIPPLE the US economy with their policies, not to mention what they would do to the moral landscape.

And lets not forget that they would also be bad for national security...if Obama wins, I am so moving to Australia after I finish my master's.

smoothie, I am out of the bubble. been out since 99. But just because he's different doesn't mean I would want to listen to him. Do you want to listen to a marxist just because he's different. I still believe that the students are the one's that are going to hear his lines of BS. And that is what it is. So, why subject yourself and students to this? Ask the administration?

subject yourself to hearing someone elses point of view? You certainly don't have to agree with the guy. I know I, in no shape or form do. But it doesn't do me any harm to listen to what he's saying. Maybe he'll make a good point, maybe he'll further solidify my view of him being incredably wrong all the time. Who knows. But it's certainly no harm in inviting him to speak. You can't just go through life only listening, watching, reading, and catering to only what your current opinion is. In terms of politics anyway.

Hey A-Train, moving to Australia would be bad for personal security. They've banned keeping guns in homes. Guess how high crime and home invasions shot up after they banned them?

A-Train I'm all about New Zealand! GO ALL BLACKS!!!!

Besides, I would never live anywhere that abridges my right to self-defense and gun ownership. After all, Ben Franklin said that private gun ownership is essential to personal liberty.

Ben Franklin - "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the issue." [1759]

"An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject."

Thomas Jefferson - "For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well organized and armed militia is their best security."

Thomas Jefferson - "No free man shall ever be de-barred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

Thomas Jefferson - "What country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms."

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." ~~ George Washington

Tench Coxe - "The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American ... the unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people."

George Mason - "To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them."
------------------------------------------------

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin - "A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie."

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin - "Only an armed people can be the real bulwark of popular liberty."

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin - "One of the basic conditions for the victory of socialism is the arming of the workers (Communist) and the disarming of the bourgeoisie (the middle class)."

Adolf Hitler [1939] - "This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilised nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!"

Sarah Brady - "Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed."

Bill Clinton - "The purpose of government is to rein in the rights of the people."

Janet Reno - "Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal."

-------------------------------------------------------

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. By 1987 that figure had risen to 61,911,000.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952 10,076,000 political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated in Kuomintang China, and by 1987 another 35,236,000 exterminations were carried out under the Communists.

Germany established gun control1 in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, without the means to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979 under General Idi Amin Dada, 300,000 Christians and political rivals of Amin, unable to defend them selves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. Between 1975 and 19793, 2,035,000 "educated" people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

The familiar list of mass murderers – Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot – only scratches the surface. The mass slaughter of helpless, unarmed civilian populations continues to this very day in Sudan, Rwanda, and parts of the former Yugoslavia.

I do not foresee any mass extremination of humans by Australian Government...at least not for the couple years I'll be there (depends on how long Obama is in office after I'm done with my masters degree).

I can see it now...the Aussies are going to turn into 8-limbed creatures with a killer accent. No one will mess with Crocodile Dundee if he has four-arms.
