I am big on Jameel....i see your stats but lets look at this here. Tusculum, Shippensburg, St Francis, Presbyterian, VMI, Gardner Webb....those are not the same caliber of VT, Miami, MD, NC State. A lot of the games brock had he was playing against sub par competition. Right now Brock IS THE QB and I understand that but there will be controversy if Jameel can play right away...there will be a competition. The one positive is at least we will have a more enjoyable spring game.

Even if he is eligable, i can't seem him playin in the spring game in what 6 weeks?

First off, as long as they are academically eligible then both players should be able to play right away. That is why Vince had to sit out a season while his other former UVa teammates didn't. The only one of the possible UVa guys we have discussed that gets dicey as far as immediate eligibility from the NCAA standpoint is Cook.

As far as my sources, you can believe whatever you like. But I hear things from a number of very reliable sources .. some old school and some new school.

But to be honest, I really haven't heard much of consequence on Sewell in several weeks. Fitz has been a much hotter topic.

This is all great news about Sewell and the possiblility that Fitzgerald coming in. I think that Brock should be the starter and Sewell could maybe play WR unless alternating QB's is a possiblilty between the 2 of them. Fitzgerald would be a more than adequate replacement for Vince Redd for his big play making ability. I am not sure why it was mentioned that they would have to sit out since going from 1A to 1AA you are eligible immediately unless there is some rule change or something. Could it be Fitzgerald is leaning heavily towards LU since Sewell is committed. I dont know. This is big!

I find this a little hard to believe, but you never know...However, wouldn't Jameel need to be enrolled NOW to be eligible to play in the fall?? He'd have to be eligible by NCAA standards by the end of summer, and if he's not enrolled somwhere now, I think that would be pretty tough. I guess I'll have to call up a couple of my buddies at UVA to see if they've heard anything.

On the other hand, the "Breaking News" I'm waiting to hear is that a certain 6'5, 400lb lineman has decided to come to LU...

I can't tell you where I heard it - it WASN'T from anyone at LU, but from someone that has never been wrong on stuff like this. Didn't sound like it was a hush, hush thing either and that it was starting to come out. Just don't want to out anyone, just in case. Just excited to hear that Liberty is attracting some big time talent. That's what Georgia Southern did all those years.

Without the specifics of his transcripts, I would assume that he could gain eligibility for us in summer school. If he would've transferred for the spring it would've been much simpler.
