Wow Scar, rewarding a guy that was ineligible for the whole 2nd semester (Kenon)?

He's only a sophomore, but he might be the best lock-down defender I've seen at WU (and can guard anyone from a small/quick guard like Jamarco Warren, who he shut down the other night, or a bigger/stronger player like AZ Reid).

Also, for those that are putting John Williams on the all-freshman team, he isn't eligible (he's a redshirt fr.)...he definitely would make it otherwise.

Well, I guess a WU fan should know the value of mannnyotis. But, I still have my money on Gaynor to run away with the honor along with his three steals per game.

Ok then, I gotta 'nother bone to pick with our Winthrop friends (actually wimpthrop after this season) Here's the bone: so how does a 43% three-point-specialist, who plays good D, and handles the ball well, not make the all-frosh team. How dare you come on this non-sanctioned LU website and not acknowledge our freshman. Shame on you, Barack Obama. I'll meet you in Ohio, and be prepared to debate the issues there. My healthcare plan covers all americans, and not just those who want it. Shame, shame, shame, shame, on you.

Kenon hit 57 3 pointers in 16 games which is more than most in the conference freshman or not! I have seen him play and he is really good. It is kind of like Megan Frazee getting hurt 2 games into conference. She didn't get MVP but Ii believe she got some kind of post season award. Maybe all Freshman team. I have to look that up. Yes I think Kenon deserves to be on that team.

I'll support Scar on this one. 40% from the arc with 9 attempts per game ain't too shabby---neither is 43% from the arc with 5 attempts, as in Jeremy Anderson. Shame, shame, shame , on you. This whole thing is the biggest fairytale that I've ever heard. Furthermore, I did not have sexual relations with that woman, miss lewinsky.

Sorry I'm getting to this a little late. Here are my picks...

POY: AZ Reid, HPU
DPOY: Manny Robinson, WU
FOY: Omar Carter, CSU
COY: Eddie Biedenbach, UNCA

First Team:
Chris Gaynor, WU
Reggie Williams, VMI
AZ Reid, HPU
Bryan Smithson, UNCA
Jack Leasure, CCU

Second Team:
Alex McLean, LU
Michael Jenkins, WU
Mike Jefferson, HPU
Chavis Holmes, VMI
Anthony Smith, LU

Freshman Team:
Omar Carter, CSU
Jamarco Warren, CSU
Anthony Breeze, CCU
Charles Corbin, WU
Jeremy Anderson, LU

If POY was changed to MVP then I'd give it to Bryan Smithson. Reggie missed too many conference games for me to give it to him.

I will disagree with the honorable SCAR on this one and here is why... Frazee getting hurt (not her fault) and Kenon doing something to become ineligible (his fault) are not the same thing. Had Kenon been having a great year (which he was) and gotten hurt (which he didn't) I could see still having him on the All-Freshman team. But for me, being ineligible for all of the conference games means being ineligible for all of the conference awards.

I think you make an excellent point. Ineligible not=injured

Yes I will agree with that to an extent as well. But if we are judging just on performance, Austin's numbers are deserving. He may not get it for reasons stated though.

I guess then the question would be, "What performance are we judging?"
I don't know if the Big South has any kind of guidlines for these awards, but I'm of the opinion that Big South Awards should be based on Big South play. Based on that, Austin has no numbers for us to judge.

Can someone find out who got the most right or who got them all right? I don't know if anyone got them all right this year. Realist and I have gotten it all right in the past though. I know. I like to compete in everything. Sorry.

I'm also too lazy to do what I am asking :P . I had it close. I had Leasure on second team and Gaynor on 1st though. Kenny George replaced Bannister and Michael Jenkins moved Jefferson out of the picture compared to my pics. I had Chavis Holmes. I didn't get Austin Kenon but that was more of a pic to make a point. The kid from WU deserved to be on the team.

Crap, I was picking my picks, not based on who I thought would get it. I know I wouldn't have been right though.

I think I'm just as close if not closer than anyone:

4/5 on first team
4/5 on 2nd team (I only had Alex and Gaynor switched for my only misses on these 2 teams)
5/5 freshman team
correctly picked DPOTY, POTY, and COTY! Beat them apples :P

That is 16/18!

I am the Big South king this year, just say it. I almost correctly picked this, and have led our pick 'em thingy almost all year. :D
