Secondly, BELCHER you may want to think again about any of our coaches getting ACC or SEC offers. That number is still 0. (Although 1 coach did get an 2 AcC offers but they were not at the school at the time, plus she is SMOKIN hot!)
I was just going by what someone on this board told me. I really have no idea, but just assumed it was true. I do know what "assume" does, and should refrain from it in the future. (of course it is safe to "assume" that he wasn't offered a Clemson job, right?)
I'm still of the opinion that if LSU offers him a job, he is CRAZY to turn it down. Maybe that makes him less Christian in some of your books, but from a far I think the guy has done great things in his short time at LU. If he used us as a stepping stone, I still say thank you!
Of course I was under the impression that Green had a job offer from Clemson, so I pretty much don't know what I'm talking about half the time!

If he is, great though....don't get me wrong im happy about his ability to relate with fans and alumni.
I'm talking specifically about Flames Club members and season tickets. Those things are both up significantly. Flames Club is multiple times larger than anytime in its history. The average gift last year was something around $1000.
As for the marketing stuff, I'm not arguing with that. I'm still wondering why we don't have video intros now. It wouldn't be hard to do. It'd take less than a day to put together a basic one minute intro to play before the team comes out. I'm sure Proto's stuff was awesome because that's the type of work that they do, but it wouldn't be hard to do it now. We've got the resources, that's for sure.
Didn't Thom Park hire Bob Good and Kevin Keys and set up all the Flames Club programs. So what has JB really done? It is a simple question?
It's a legit question as well. It's Barber's department, and he oversees what Bob and Kevin do. Because of that, he gets credit for the successes and blamed for the failures while he is the director of the department. Jerry Falwell hired Danny Rocco, but because Barber is the AD currently, Barber is getting some of the credit for the success of football.
He has really nice hair!
JK!
Look i feel strongly that he is leading this program in a very positive direction. He made good hires with RMK and Storm and is making things happen with fundraising and many improvements to the facilities. these things take time, and I hope he stays to see it through.
What kind of candy do you like? We all need to chip in and buy some and send it to you to cheer you up!
He lives in Forest and uses Verizon! Interesting! I got it, Barber is his next door neighbor and he put a fence up on checkmates property, and now it's full on neighbor war!
Liberty University Director of Athletics Jeff Barber
February 26, 2008
Lynchburg, Va.
Liberty University Director of Athletics Jeff Barber has announced that he has officially withdrawn his name from consideration of the position Athletic Director at LSU.
Barber’s name was part of a select list a national search committee released last week for consideration for the soon-to-be vacant position.
"I have withdrawn my name from any further consideration for the position of Director of Athletics at Louisiana State University,” stated Barber. “I am honored by the interest expressed to me by a quality institution like LSU, but even more, I am excited that the growing foundations of academic and athletic excellence which characterize Liberty Athletics are being recognized on the national level.

Since his arrival on Liberty Mountain, Barber has spearheaded a thriving Athletics Department. He has secured the hires of such nationally renowned coaches as Ritchie McKay (men’s basketball) and Jim Toman (baseball). He just directed the program through the most successful fall season in Liberty history, which included five conference championships and an individual national champion.
so basically all the panic and hysteria was for nought.
anyone feel bad for questioning his integrity now?
you should.

BELCHER - No, it would not be a good idea to assume that.
As for name calling...... How big of a poopy butt can you be to not be happy when someone is close to getting a SWEET job. Only dork weeds feel resentment when good things happen to good people. Further what type of lame brained nerf herder can not see the complete change in attitude of the entire department. (With the possible exception of MG who is still going "What?? I AM the interim? I am NOT the interim? How many kids do I have now"") Only a worthless slug of a human being would call someone disloyal when opportunity arises. You further would have to be a complete waffle head to think that JB will be around here for 20 years. And to question a man's integrity because of what MIGHT happen is only in the perview of a truly dispicable human being. Where were these folks when CG tried flirting with another school? Did these samd dunderheads cry "Havok!! This man is nothing but a traitor waiting for his next job?" Nope, these village idiots were still safe and sound inthere own little corner of the world contentedly sucking on there binky's and buger mining.
So now that JB has decided against making a move at this time, perhaps these cry babies can go back to what ever Whhaamatorium they escaped from before their ankle bracelts go off and think of new reasons to keep extraordinary people from reaching the potential that the good Lord gave them. If they were really smart they would look for ways to have Kleenex sponsor they boo hoo sessions and try to hijack HRC's "Shame on you Barak" tape and make it there new protest song!
Now THAT is funny!!! ANd I know funny. (And I believe the troops appreciate a good polka!)

so i'm assuming you don't want to take back all the crap you said about him? oh yeah, he has an agenda. he's trying to get out of LU, but pulled his name out of one of the top jobs in the country. it would be a shame if he actually did care about Jerry's dream wouldn't it checkmate? seems to me like the only one around here with an agenda is you. maybe we should fire jeff barber, ritchie mckay, and jim toman and hire RD as the AD and see what he can do. then would you be happy?

He has never been an AD before. Celebrate the university's commitment not somebody who is looking for his next gig before he has accomplished anyhting of significance. LU gave him his first AD job. It wasn't like he had been an AD at even a DII institution. I grew up around Marines...loyalty in that generation was not self-promotion. Find a grinder who will commit to an athletic strategic plan and truly take us to another level.
well he has done a great job for his first time being an AD. He has created much more excitment around LU athletics than i have ever seen in my time at LU. so stop with your dumb bitterness towards him already and quit living in the past. You haven't said a positive thing on this board ever since you have been on here. But i expect that from someone like you.
Longest post of Critics career.
i've had an even longer post in the UNC women's game thread. so maybe second longest
