If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Saw the last 4 minutes tonite.

Davidson wins handily (though SOME may disagree) though the Eagles "D" was evidently pretty stout. They held Curry to 12 pts I believe- a season low.

from what little I saw, the Eagles were outmatched on the boards, though that may not have been the case all nite.

lowlight of the evening was the graphic put up showing the 1st through 4th place teams in both the SoCon and BSOUTH and NO MENTION OF LU at all.

not that we deserve it after the clock cleaning at Longwood tonite

I don't know if we can say they "held" Curry to 12 points. He had good looks, just didn't knock them down. I'm sure he was pressing a bit since his last 2 college choices were WU and Davidson.

I was able to tune in for the second half. Apparently, they didn't need Curry
in order to dominate in this one.

I think that he came out cold, sat out for the final 5 or 6 minutes of the first half,
and then knocked down some clutch shots in the second half in order to maintain
that double-diget lead.

The kid looks smooth in every area. Had this game been closer, Steph would have
been there when they needed him.

BTW...Seth, who was considered a smaller version of his brother is now, apparently,
the taller of the two.

Where do you get this info? I've heard Steph is now 6'3".

I've heard that Steph is actually 6-2, and Seth is about 6-2 and a half--and growing. I think Dell was 6-5, so perhaps both sons will be close to that when they are done growing. You may be right, Steph may now be 6-3 or taller. When it's all said and done, I wouldn't be surprised is Seth ends up being the taller of the two.

The point is that Seth is no pee-wee as was once projected by some.

No doubt he's no pee-wee. His brother was a late bloomer, and it appears Seth is as well.

I watched this game after returning from Farmville on TIVO and Winthrop simply has trouble scoring. They defend as well as anyone I have seen at the mid major level but they can't score. Michael Jenkins is so streaky its not funny and Taj is not playing well at the offensive end right now. Gaynor is a gamer though. He hit big shots all night. Harris and Robinson miss too many interior shots IMO. Williams and Bradshaw used to finish those shots and Torrell Martin was unguardable at times. Then you still had Taj, Jenkins and Gaynor to worry about. Losing those 3 studs has really changed that team. They are still the team to beat that 1st week of March though especially since the games will likely be played in Rock Hill. I know the big south is breathing a sigh of relief that Asheville won't be hosting it looks like.

WU had a quick turnaround and one day to prepare after running all night at VMI. This was a lace up it doesn't mean anything game. They also had a bad shooting night. I think WU wins it 7 out of ten times but they didn't have the advantage last night of preparation.

I wasn't impressed by Curry. He shot 4-14 and looked very soft. Physically he is a midget to everyone else and he turned the ball over a ton. I think Richards is the best player by far on that team.

You are still living in the past my friend.

Davidson is way better than Winthrop. They came into your house and gave you a whoopin' on national TV --- even with Curry having an off night.

Interesting, considering we're two wins away from another championship. Seems status quo to me.

Someone's gonna get hot in the tourney and win it. It may be WU, or it may be someone else. Who knows? We'll find out soon enough.

I guess if we harken back to the pre-Martin/Bradshaw days, you can feel a familiar status quo. The winner of this tournament is a likely double-digit-plus loser in the first round of the NCAA's. Regardless of the tourney outcome, this is not a good year for the big south.

They must not teach math at WU because you are 3 wins away from a championship, not 2. The only champion anyone remembers is the tourney champ. Oh and by the way, all 8 BSC teams are 3 wins away from the same 'ship.
