Please indulge me, for yes...I am the proud dad this morning, as FR, Jr was named ODAC player of the week. He was off to a hot start last year before a 3 for 40 slump found his backside on the bench, and my prayer is that he is simply consistent this year.

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

JEFF TAYLOR, Lynchburg College
Taylor, a sophomore from Lynchburg, Virginia, went 9-for-16 (.562) in five games for the Hornets last week. He scored 16 runs, picked up one double and knocked in four runs. He scored at least two runs in four of the five games including an 18-1 win over Frostburg State in which he crossed the dish four times. He was also 4-fo-4 in stolen bases while driving five walks for the week.

As a parent and board admin, I grant you as many indulgences as you would like to brag on your kids.

(Even if they are at LC)

Had Toman been here a year earlier, he would most likely have seen Junior's potential as a college baseball player.
LU's loss is LC's gain. Congrats to you and yours. :cartwheels :cheerleader :cartwheels
We need to do a :tailgate trip over to LC and see the boy play.

Thanks for taking one for the team, Fumble. The FF crew needs to get out to LC to support Junior in Fumble, Sr.'s absence due to his obligations at the regional Quiz Bowl tournament in Blacksburg. In other words, the old man wants to bring home some hardware next.

the stats on LC's website had JT Jr. with 13 runs for the whole season, someone must have made a typo with that 16 runs. It's actually 11 runs, which is still pretty good for a 5-game stretch.

then he'd be wasting a year of eligibility because he'd have to sit out a year...
