He posted it in Non-LU sports, so I am thinking it is some worthless V-Tech or UVa News. :P

Can we even pick up the Sportsline on the radio in Lynchburg or do we have to drive to Roanoke to hear the news? :medic

can't pick it up unless I stand on the hood of my car holding a coat hanger covered in foil

I'm guessing it's something about the show itself. Possibly they have arranged something that will actually allow them to be heard in Lynchburg.

Or maybe Roth is leaving! (we can hope).

All you guys beat me to the punch...great stuff. Maybe they're ditching their ill-fated (IMHO) regional-based show and will get back to their local roots...perhaps even on LNI.

Friday is their last day. Not enough ad revenue for the regional format. Larry is going full-time into Real Estate.

What's Rich going to do???

I listened to the show ever since LU alum Bob Sturm founded it (he's now the "Sturmanator" down in Dallas), and I hated to see it leave the Lynchburg airwaves once it left WLNI.

I hate to hear that, GMTM. I thought it was a great local show.

That is when I was listening to it. I still listen to Sturm from time to time as they stream live over the internet. He definitely has the face for radio. Everytime I talked to him he was cool though. We were from Michigan and would argue on air with him about whose program was better, Michigan or VaTech. After he left, I really didn't like the show much with Rich. I mean he was alright, but we felt like it was such a drop off from Bob.

You have to give Rich credit. How long has he been doing it? 10 years. I was shocked to hear he was still at it.

Perhaps him and Alvis can get something going. Bob does a great job on the local sports scene with his podcasts.

Alvis is very good. He can only do that if he keeps working Good Morning Va too.

Well one of the things that was in the deal was 93.9FM in Lynchburg and there was so many problems that occured with that and it may never reach full strength... In the summer 1320 works fine but come October it gets powered down... The move got us into Roanoke and that is what we wanted to do for over 10 years... Larry has been in real estate for over 2 years with Long and Foster and has been building houses for a while too so this is no RD reference.. We wish it could have worked locally but an agreement was unable to be worked out which would have kept us on the 4 ESPN stations... As for me there are several things in the works...

I can't believe that this show is still on the air. Somehow, I always thought it would have ended by now with the short one accidentally hanging himself.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. When these guys were on WLNI, the station managers actually cut an hour of Sean Hannity's show so we could hear these idiots talk about how Brady Quinn is the Man.

hey, when you have to choose between those 2 shows, I think it's a coin flip. :guntohead

I think the real question is, do they wish they had stayed at WLNI and kept the show locally? I don't even know if that was an option.

I really enjoyed the show when it was on LNI. I just could not pick it up in Lynchburg when they switched.
