Ok, since things are slowing down, here is a question:
What sports do you like watching live? On TV? Tivo? and why?

I LOVE baseball live, hate it on TV
Hockey is GREAT live, snoozer on tv
Basketball PRO: Who cares College: Depends on arena
Football: TV
Soccer: Love it live especially in another country
Fishing: TV Deadliest Catch
Poker: TV
Chess: Computer
Volleyball: Live

I love watching the NFL on TV because you can take up a whole Sunday all the way to NFL Prime Time!

I don't watch regular season NBA hoops but I am loving these playoff series this season. Usually I don't watch whole games but I have been glued to it the past couple of weeks.

Hockey is fun live and I love watching the Flyers on TV. I can watch playoff hockey but it can go on and on....

Baseball is fun live but I don't like watching it live or on TV very much. I keep up with the Phillies via ESPN News though. Now days you can pretty much get the cliff's notes or the Reader's digest version of sports in a day so you don't have to watch everything all the time.

College basketball/football is fun in person or on TV. Also fun to call live events as some of my colegues on this board can attest.

I only watch TV shows on TiVo but I cannot watch sports on TiVo though, something about the outcome already happening....it even makes me mad there's a 3 second delay on Direct-tv versus cable

but yeah, I can watch Baseball live or TV
Hockey live only
College basketball live & TV

75 percent of tv shows I watch are dvr'd. The dvr messed me up last week with 24. You have to becareful sometimes, (I don't think this is true for TIVO, only for the knock off brands like Adelphia DVR) if the TV show starts late or something like last week with the Presidents speech, I ended up missing like 15 minutes of 24.

I can watch anything when it comes to sports. Golf, baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, rugby, anything. The only time I'm totally uninterested is college baseball and women's sports. Other than that, TV or live, I'll watch it.

Kel,

the Presidential speech messed up everyone on Monday. My Tivo was off but fortunately for me I realized it was gonna happen in time and I had my shows end 30 minutes later for everything and I was covered. If I had not done that though it would have been messed up because the Tivo grid did not account for the presidential speech delaying everything.

I knew it was going to happen too SCAR and it worked out great for me. I was out of town so I was able to enjoy a nice dinner (Tokyo Hibatchi House, Chicken and Filet Hibatchi) in an undisclosed city in the Turtle State and get back in time for the season finale of Prison Break (IMagine ME liking prison shows) and then 24!!

I knew about the speech and the dvr still messed up. I had it record from 9-10 and from 10-11 on my local fox channel. The trouble with adelphia is, it refused to record from 10-11 because the Fox 10 o'clock news hadn't started yet. I have a feeling if I had told it to record one block from 9-11 it might have been okay, however, I clicked to record the time blocks 9-10, and 10-11 separately. That's all I can figure. When we used to have tivo, it seemed smarter than these problems. I guess with important shows, I'll have to go ahead and watch live. What I usually do is wait 20 minutes, and then start watching. That way I don't have to watch commercials. That's what I did last week, but when it 10 o'clock, 15 minutes of the show was missing. GO figure.

Baseball : Live (I can barely watch playoff games on tv)
NFL: TV (it is fun live, but Sundays are so busy making tv much less exhausting)
College football: Live (I like watching it on TV, but I share season tickets to University of Michigan. I LOVE going to the Big House on Saturdays)
NHL: Live
NBA: TV (although the playoffs are exceptional live)
Hockey: Live
Golf: Live (I love going to the Buick Open and Ford Senior Open in Michigan. It is really fun)

Sports are about the only thing I watch live anymore. I have a DVR and refuse to watch commercials. It is awesome to watch a 30 minute program in about 20 minutes or an hour program in about 40 minutes.

Baseball -live, TV is ok but just hard to sit down and watch it for 3 hours

College Football -Live, nothing better then being with 40,60,or 80,000 screaming fans for a game and doing the whole gameday experience is just as fun as the game itself..

Basketball -Live, TV is pretty good too though

Hockey- either way I don't get into it but If I am watching it, it has got to be live, I think Hockey is not done enough justice on TV.

I have one rule if I am going to watch a game live and that is I have to have lower level or club level seats and be close to the action or else it doesn't do it for me.. If I get stuck with upper level seats I might as well watch it at home
