I will quote the article in the March 2008 issue of Runner's World to the best of my ability (sometimes the typing skills go GMTM on me).
At the NCAA Cross-Country Championships in Indiana this past November, Josh McDougal put himself-and his school- on the collegiate sports map. The Liberty University senior and 12-time All-American was undefeated for the season and had dominated the Big South Conference for years, but he'd never won a national title. Then he found himself battling University of Oregon star Galen Rupp, the American collegiate 10,000 meter record holder. The race came down to the last few strides on the 10-k course-with McDougal winning by a second in 29:22. The title earned Liberty, located in Lynchburg, Virginia, its first NCAA men's individual crown, while Rupp's performance helped Oregon claim the men's team victory, its first since 1977.
There is also the now famous picture (thank you N&A) of him crossing the line, arms extended, in the article.
