I prefer to think of myself as Presby.

I am the Harvard of the board, and only play in weeks I deem fit, and weeks where I feel I am going up against academic equals.

CSU @ Coastal

CSU Comes off getting routed by Winthrop. COastal suffered a close loss @ home to League leader UNCA. I think the Chants take this one pretty handily

Coastal 11-16

Winthrop @ UNCA

This is really UNCA's chance to solidify themselves as the #1 team in the conference. Winthrop needs to really come out strong since they are in a hostile environment. I think this one could really go either way but I gotta pick a winner so Im going with the Eagles

Winthrop 1-5

Liberty @ Radford

Radford is not a very good team right now. they did have a close loss to HPU last time out, and Liberty has not done well at the Dedmon Center. The Flames are burning real hot right now having won their last 5 including their second straight at VMI Monday night. I think the Flames take this one pretty solidly

LU 6-10

VMI @ High Point

VMI is missing Reggie Williams, the team's (and country's) leading scorer. I think HPU wins this one

HPU 11-15

Yes, he thinks WU is far superior than anyone in the conference. :D

I know you guys love to hate WU, but they are a better team when looking at all the numbers. Could have a bad game and lose it for sure, but if it trends like the number, that's where it will fall.

I think you're too wrapped up in numbers.

What else is their to do but look at numbers? Just say because I think so? I base my thoughts off of real information, not pure speculation.

Numbers are only part of the story. You know the saying, "the game's not played on paper."

Numbers are the entire story. Of course there will be deviations from the norm, and injuries and such that influence a game. But to look at something objectively you have to look at numbers. Doesn't mean you'll get a single game right, or every game right, but you'll get a good prediction for games over a course of a season.

So, if you beat VMI by 40, and lost to HPU, and Asheville beat VMI by such a tiny margin, how in the world did they manage to beat High Point?

If you follow the numbers, High Point should have beat them...

Oh, wait, "deviations".

Which means, the numbers mean nothing. That at any time, in any game, the averages and means and medians all go out the window and the players play and the coaches coach.

It's not about numbers at all. Numbers, at the end of the day, are for the losers. Wins and losses are for the winners, mainly the wins, the wins that get Championships.

Is WU the best team in the conference? To me, yes. They have ben the best and there is no reason to believe they aren't.

But it's not because of scoring margin, that's for darn sure. I think that Taj is a better reason to feel confident than +14 scoring differential.

He looks at numbers, not the fact that they beat VMI at home without Reggie by 40 and Asheville won in Lexington with Reggie playing.

It still doesn't make sense tho.

You know as well as anyone that I love me some numbers, but at the end of the day that doesn't win you a game.

I know my example was off, anyways. Just trying to make some sort of a point.

There's nothing wrong with looking at numbers, they are important, but not the whole story. They are the most tangible thing you can look at, so I see where you're coming from, but you can't base everything on that. You can't forget these are student-athletes, athletes being the key word.
