Great game from Anderson, and Ohman played well off the bench as well. Anthony has really brought his game full circle with his inside play and rebounding.

I will probably get roasted for this, but I'll shoot anyway.

Is it possible for this team to reach 20 wins this season? 9 regular season games remaining, 3 possible tournament games.

When was the last time LU had a 20 win season?

I was really hoping I messed up somebody's post. I assume it was mostly likely a PeterParkeresque post, 5 or 6 paragraphs. They hit submit and BAM, locked thread? Noooo!

Jeremy was off the charts tonight! If he has another game like that on Saturday night he might have a chance at FotW

those guys are sick from 3pt range- but we had 5 guys in double figures and that's the difference.

nice rebounding edge, as well.

still impressed w/ Richie's coaching.

another thing- Coach Baucom oughta kiss those Holmes twins on the lips every day they lace up.

those guys singlehandedly (doublehandedly?) kept them in it tonite.

Coach just said ACE tweaked his ankle. Also mentions the team didn't even practice since the game on Saturday and is given the guys the day off tomorrow. Also mentions the great crowd of Flame fans at VMI tonight.

I missed the whole game, because I refused to listen to JE, besides we had to go to dinner. A win on the road is great, regardless of who it is. Won't mention any names, but looks like since we are playing better, we have lost a few posters.

I think the frequent posters were at the game.

Another double-double for Ace. I don't know if we'll get that 20 win season someone mentioned but if we hit a cold streak between here and the conference tournament, I hope we can get back in this type of grove when the tourney starts.

I think he was more referring to our resident crop of "Negative Nancy" posters that always seem to appear when things go badly

I'm thinking we finish with 17 wins. Here's how I think it will go.

Tonight 12-9 overall

Remaining games:

Radford - Away - Win 13-9
HPU - AWAY - Loss 13-10 (but this is a very winnable game no doubt)
UNCA - Home - Loss 13-11 (again we can win this one)
Winthrop - Home - Loss 13-12 (just a hunch)
CCU - Away - Loss 13-13
CSU - Away - Win 14-13
Longwood - Away - Win 15-13
VMI - Home - Win 16-13
Radford - Home - Win 17-13

My picks are conservative, but we might lose one we should win and win one we should lose so it will all even out. If we can split with UNCA and Winthrop at home that would be fantastic.

listened to some of the second half on my way home from my internship...it sounded like a lot of fans for LU took the trip...it was fun to hear...thats about the only thing that was good to hear...

Its good to win on the road...anytime you can do that is a plus...the rebounding is great to see, and its great to see some solid bench production....very solid start for the road trip against an always pesky VMI team

Great game, just walked in the door...

1. the LUantics (sp?) did a great job pulling them through, they were much louder then the Keydets were.

2. Boy did Jeremy get hot tonight, in fact I think I heard he was on fire...

3. Alex is tough and comes to play every night

4. Kyle is Mantlo Jr and willing to get dirty and even take splinters the size of your finger for the team

5. TJ just needs to relax at times, he tries to do to much but theres no doubt he's a floor general

6. I dont want to hear I complain about the officials every time we lose...we won and they were AWFUL mainly the kid....that poor guy was in over his head and you could tell...they were bad both ways...there was a few bear hugs Alex got away with but i think it evened out

Great game, great support all in all it was a good night

I would agree... except we win at home against Winthrop and away at Coastal... end up 19-11

"Larry's Better" was the chant, when either of the Holmes' were at the line.

Just as an FYI. Everyone else will give their postgame thoughts.

there were a lot more liberty fans then i thought would be there. it was awesome. holmes bros went cold from the line when we started the "you're not larry" chant. then the dumb keydets started chanting it when teejay had the ball. freakin idiots had no idea what they were doing.

nice effort by the guys tonight. i had to suffer through it on the radio, but the LU fans were way louder than VMI. anderson was terrific and this team is really stepping up. it is great to get that first road conference win.

The wrapup from Chris ...
LU men survive shorthanded VMI

By Chris Lang
Lynchburg News & Advance
January 29, 2008

LEXINGTON - Anthony Smith could have easily given up on the play. After Liberty teammate B.J. Jenkins missed a 3-pointer Monday night at Cameron Hall, VMI's Travis Holmes started the fast break with a quick outlet pass to a streaking Willie Bell, who tore down the floor, ready for a momentum-changing layup.

Then Smith flew in from behind and pinned the ball against the glass. Jenkins rebounded the block, and Rell Porter crushed VMI's hopes by draining a 3-pointer to push the Flames' lead back to double digits. The sequence essentially sealed Liberty's 87-81 victory over the Keydets, who played without their head coach and leading scorer.
