Does anybody else see that giant fire? Who else went looking for it? I know you're out there. I imagine SJ is feeling the heat from it. WSET says it's a lumber yard. That is seriously the biggest fire I've ever seen in real life. And I watched them burn down that apartment building in Liberty Villridge.

SJ says his power is out and is well aware of the fire.

I called Gene Falwell who lives right there and he went up to see what was going on....then he noticed that sparks and pieces of ash were landing on Candler Oil Company so he got out of there quick....that could have been devastating

Large pieces of ash could be found all the way at Falwell Aviation on 460

I could see the thing from my front porch.

I had a long post talking about it ready to go when the power went out.

It was pretty scary to say the least. At times I thought the fire was going to jump the small tree line and hit my road.

Now I just have to see if I'm gonna have power tonight.

WSET and WDBJ have conflicting reports on what company is actually on fire....although they are across the street from each other...and judging from what everyone is saying about how big it is they both could be right regardless if there is a road in between

And SJ, I want to forewarn you....you may be questioned for arson...

1. You and your cronies live right there
2. You're bitter about a tough loss and boring drive to UNC-A
3. You guys do put on the internet "Fan the Flames" a awful lot

Dont worry though, I know a good lawyer

True Story. I was there, and he and I were just watching TV. We heard crackling, but thought nothing of it.

Then we heard sirens.

And then Jon went outside...

and...

Fire.

Lots of it.

at least 15 feet above the treeline.

It was CRAZY!

From the morning paper
A large-scale fire erupted at the Royster Fertilizer Plant at 2410 Mayflower Drive at 7:35 p.m. Sunday night.

Six fire engines and two medic crews arrived on scene to fight the blaze, which engulfed the plant’s 100-foot by 400-foot main building. The fire was contained hours after it started and didn’t contaminate the surrounding air quality or groundwater, fire officials said.

Thanks. My roommate keeps our window open (yes even in the winter) so the only indication I got was the smell of burning stuff coming in

I guess it was too bad you couldn't go outside or anything to see the fire.
